Jeremiah Your Dr may want another X-ray series done just to rule out any movement / displacement and or subsidence ( very very doubtful this would ever occur). It would also help you as well , to see that everything looks good as well as positive words from your doctor in regards too. Take care buddy!
Hydrate ! And Stretch your chest because that helped my upper thoracic. PRP helped my lower back chronic pain tremendously. Also anti inflammatory diet. Get Alcat test for food sensitivities. My questions is, what was your pain level prior to surgery and what is your pain level now in your lower back ?
Thanks Jeremiah as always. Your videos have always been great though sometimes since you have had such a hard go that it makes me reconsider that is for sure. However, I am going for it in October with Dr Rischke in Switerland and getting three levels L3 to S1. I tried Dr Desai but could never get the strong contact communication I was hoping for. Rischke mentioned the three months as well but he told me you won't be doing everything like you did before. He Told me at three months you can Start and I want to stress Start doing things you used to do but very slowly and careful. Seems everyone recovers differently. I even asked the doctor if I my recovery would go smoother than most because I am younger, in good shape and the discs are the only probably presently (do no have nerve issues, etc). He basically said there is no real way to predict the recovery process. Some people recover with little problems while others have a harder time. I admit I am not scared of the actual surgery I am more worried about the recovery and how long it will take and if I will be better off. In regards to your back, do you feel your lower region now is quite strong? much better than in the past? I know you have the upper issues but do you feel overall the lower region is solid and you are feeling good? I always feel weakness in my lower back now, every day, have to walk in the morning and swim just to get it to feel a little better. The big pain comes and goes, usually every few weeks I have an episode but certainly I live my life now being extremely careful all the time, would love to not have to walk on egg shells all my life and as I get older I am sure it will get worse. Doing this procedure for me is to yes strengthen my back now, give hte ability to do things again but also to do something instead of waiting in the future when something more terrible happens. Thanks again for the update, congrats on the New Born!
Your situation seems very similar to mine, my problem is the L4-L5 disc. I'm aching a bit every day but if I do something wrong it worsens for a week or more. Cannot jog, play sports or do any fast turns type of stull at all really without flaring up my back. It's like having a knife pointing at the nerve and I have to balance that all the time. Would love to connect with you on Facebook! Or read your blog if you create one to journal your yourney.
Jeremiah...collagen synthesis is the cause of the discs losing the high..the process u feel in the thorax area is because u got a strong low back with artificial discs and i guess the upper back are taking the load more now...use the money on GH and some deca which both build collagen in your discs and get stronger muscles to encapsulate your spine..good luck!
This is quite the journey Jeremiah. Back pain is hell. Failed surgery is hell...I understand all to well. How are you doing these days Jeremiah? Your absence of an update is deafening and concerning.
How are you doing? To me is sound like maybe your posture changed? and that put stress on the whole upper area? It's certainly concerning. Did you have xrays of your upper and neck before you went in for lower back? just wondering if there is anything that showed up for those area? then maybe the posture change effect that area....
Norbert Kovács they seem to be pushing one doctor and one product. The stories often seem too good to be true. I can’t say they aren’t true but it makes me think.
Norbert Kovács I believe that ADR is a better option than fusion but it’s hard to believe the people that are absolutely 100% better. But I honestly don’t know Norbert, I’ve never had ADR. I’m just thinking out loud.
Do some research and you'll find the greatest predictor of satisfactory success from ADR is previous athletic ability. People who were athletic before injury tend to recover easy and return to function. Fat people and those who never exercised to begin with are the ones who struggle the most. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2219656/
@Jeremiah greigo I am having the SAME exact issues, my upper back has been KILLING ME, and I never had problems there..ALSO a new MRI discovered my l4/l5 to be bulging with bone spurs and spondylosis, which I NEVER had issues with in that area
Jeremiah, I have researched about fusion since I need surgery on my S1 & L5. I think there is less or almost no complications pain or issues after fusion surgery compare to disc replacement t. The only problem would be some limited movement on operated disk . What do you think?
Jeremiah, Have you tried a Tens / Muscle stim. unit yet? Can't hurt anything. Buy a LG unit only about $100. If you have continuing problems maybe an email / skype call to Dr Desai is in order. Take care buddy!
I had the same procedure you had. Almost one month post op. The only thing that is bugging me is my legs and buttocks that feel sore. I think it is because I am taller now and my body needs some time to adjust. Oh, I have this burning feeling on my right foot. The skin on top feels like is sunburnt but I only feel it when the skin rubs against something so not a major thing. I think you are having a harder time than most people.
I hope you are progressing better then I did. I'm overall doing ok and am optimistic but still have muscle tightness issues. I wish you well with your recovery.
I had my cervical done recently by Doc Desai, I am fortunate that I was German before I became American so I can communicate with no misunderstandings. I chatted with the good Doc regularly during my time in his care as it turned out we both have the same hobby. The FULL healing process can take 12 months for a cervical and that only has the weight of the head to carry, so imagine what it is like for the lumbar. You will improve slowly and the less strain you put on yourself and the less you stress and move the spine the sooner bone growth will take. Fat and unfit people will have a harder time as they have even more weight to carry and lack the muscle structure to support the spine naturally. If anyone is contemplating this procedure get as fit as you can before the operation and I do not mean starting a routine two weeks before the op, I am talking months before, regardless of the pain at the time - think of the future. The US navy does the op for injured navy SEAL's and they have a 6 month rehab program that gets them back to jumping out of planes, running and gunning, but they are fit before.
Hey Andre, are you brazilian by any chance? By opening your profile it seems like you might be. I am and I'm considering this surgery...just wanted to ask you how you did the whole procedure of going to Germany and etc to get your ADR?
I await your next blog as you are the person I put any trust in. I am considering the same surgery. Thank you.
I'm posting an update now.
Thanks I'm considering the same operation as your had so thanks. So far your the only one I put any faith in.

I am in the facebook group, are you on there?
Yep, I am. If you want you can add me on Facebook. Just search my name.
Do you have an update on your operation DarkZodiac?

Do the metal parts installed make some people feel not up to par. Metal does get into the blood stream.

I'm posting an update right now. I apologize for not posting. Take care.

I’m extremely skeptical about the Facebook group. Thanks for posting your videos.
What makes you feel skeptical about it?
Norbert Kovács they seem to be pushing one doctor and one product. The stories often seem too good to be true. I can’t say they aren’t true but it makes me think.
You meanz the M6 disc and the Enade Hospital I guess?

Zhak The Ripper can we consider this failed ADR?
Did you also have ADR surgery?

If you are only going to get l5s1 operated on, fusion is probably the way to go. Look at Tiger Woods.
Is your case usual?
From a person considering a back surgery
did you ever do the back surgery?
E. SAGE ???
Off topic: The beard looks cool! :D
Thanks, decided to change it up a bit. :)
I think after 1 year you will be not having thoracic muscle pain .
I hope you are right. :)
