    Another awesome video from you Big B !
    For anyone that takes the time to watch this man's videos and make rude comments or tell him he's wrong or blah blah just leave. Any of us that have been subscribers for a while and watch daily, we're here to learn and enjoy this content. This man does this daily for us and I couldn't be more grateful. Not only has it helped me learn literally everything I know about this hobby , but he also has spent his time giving me advice and guiding me to the right adjustments and parts personally. It's just upsetting to see folks going out of their way to be nasty.
    The real boat gang appreciates you brother!

    WOW!!! in all the years I’ve bean doing this, I never realized how much flex these props have, yes you can teach an old dog new tricks, that was a great demonstration, imagine that same prop running through a medium 800 times more dense than air (water). Great video Big B. 👍
    I can see a prop flexing in the water, then as it leaves the water snapping back while the other one or two blades flex, I just released why my plastic props are so noisy and vibrate like they do. If you have any luck hardening them let us know. I have an old grim reaper 3 blade you can practice on, it was the upgrade for the aquacraft ul1.

      I didn't think about the plastic props being loud due to vibration, thanks you taught me something new today as well... I'm currently preparing the forge, I have a couple of broken abc props I can test run first, gonna try it w/o a high temp thermometer first, just heat it using sight and time as a practice rum, I'll get a thermometer for the real heat treatment. I'll make a video on the subject

    Brother B! You said you want to harden your props. Sorry bud but copper, brass, bronze etc… can’t be quench hardened like steel. The only way to harden these metals is by work hardening, like hammering or “working” the metal. The moment you add relatively high heat to them they begin to soften and remain soft even if you quench them. That being said you might be able to surface harden them. If you use a brass tumbler and some fine steel media maybe? This stuff is readily available anywhere you would buy ammo reloading equipment. Not sure if this will work, but might be worth researching. Keep up the great work! Don’t fret the haters! BG4L Bro!

      Abc octura props are made from Beryllium, Beryllium can be heat treated and hardened. Don't ask me how, because if I knew I'd be treating my props. It can be done.

    Great video with showing the prop flex in the air from the centrifugal forces and slight air pressure, wonder what it really looks like at speed in the water under load ? The distorted prop you showed almost looks like mineral erosion thinned it down on the tips 😮. Seems to me that titanium would make a nice RC boat prop ? but the cost 💲 would probably be prohibitive, stainless is also a option.

    Hi Big B, hope you´re doing well. First, congratulations for this channel, i love it! So, i watch all of your videos related to mono hulls, those are my passion, and i watched them in search of an answer. Maybe you can help me. When a mono hull has its rudder set to the right, it will by nature turn better to one side than the other, right! My question is actually in two parts. The first would be how far away the rudder would have to be from the propeller in order for the turning ability to be improved at least on the poorer side.
    Secondly, and still in the case of a monohull, what would be the advantage of the rudder being further behind the propeller or the propeller behind the rudder? From the perspective of looking at the boat from the side. Does this have any implications for performance? Does it have any implications for turning? What advice do you have from your experience?
    Thanks Big B

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  Місяць тому

      If your trying to fix a poor left turn I think a longer rudder blade may be a good starting point.. if you move the rudder closer to center it may mess with the flow to or thrust from the prop. As for setback, I noticed the farther behind the prop you go the more of a sweeping you get with the transom. Sweeps the transom out in a turn, which could be a good thing depending on the setup

    Hey Big B, Oxidean has a replacement stinger with ball bearings. I put it on my Dominator (non self righting). Don't know how long they will last but very smooth.
    BTW: The water feed from the rudder is not connected to anything. Do you just let it shoot into the air?
    Thanks for all you do!

    Great video B!
    Do you grease your cable after each run and keep the boat stored with grease in or do you wait until you’re about to run it? Do you grease with each battery pack? Or if you’re gonna run a bunch of packs thru the boat is one round of grease enough? Seems to me on my SW V2 all the grease comes out after one pass😅. I have the mad lizard stinger installed.

    • @holgerlafrenz2895
      @holgerlafrenz2895 2 місяці тому

      I re-grease after running. I don't get water in it now with tfl stinger, but I used to get a little water in stuffing tube which could start to rust cable.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 місяці тому

      It depends, I grease both ways depending on where I run my boats, I usually grease before each run, I run a max of 3 packs before I feel the need to re-grease

    Big B , for a newbie like me , would appreciate if you could briefly talk on topic , in your future video , as to why the proboat super sonic wake , cannot run as fast as the dominator . The s sonic wake is 48inch and dominator is 33 inch . Both have real estate in it to upgrade with whatever hardware you like . In one of your videos you straight away , shared the SS is not a 100mph boat . I can see that with mods you are improving the SS but the expectation I have now is that you don’t plan to match the dominator . I am really wondering 🤔. Thank you
