A part of me thinks 20th Century Boys is better suited to animation.
i also watched it at dole cannery for the international film festival. Loved it. Ending was pretty good. I recommend watching it.
no where near as good or deep as the manga, read it three times, always coming back for more...
yes, because the plot of an autistic with shitty phrases like "you want to be my friend" who wanted to dominate the world because no one wanted to be his friend
and he can have all the people of the world in a cult of personality towards him
except for the protagonists
and as always in the series written by urasawa, the protagonists have anneseia and the rest in the 20th century boy world is so stupid that believe an autistic asshole who doesn't show his face as "friend" and the people of the world are not capable of having their own deductions only the protagonists that is very realistic and deep... as one piece.

i think all of the people who played the younger versions of everybody did a very good job. they even looked a bit like their older counterparts

Fukubei was the real Friend, who set the whole plan up. After his death, the boy who everyone thought killed himself in the science room became a pathetic replacement (character-wise; story-wise it was still awesome).
I listen to T-Rex and Lennon again bcoz of this movie.Awesome!!!

The ending is actually authentical to 21st Century Boys, the epilogue story.
I've just seen this movie. I swear to god IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. It WILL NOT LEAVE LOOSE ENDS. And IT WILL LEAVE YOU IN AWE.

both of them is good and better.
While the manga is better at everything else but the ending of the movie was better.
Movie 2: Kana goes to tomodachi land to be reeducated, they find out secrets about who tomo might be, and the cliff hanger is that Tomo gets shot, he dies, he resurects himself infront of international television and thats the ending. Oh and Keiji turns out to be alive
Maybe the world must be like this 😂
lol this series gets me so confused...so i'll have to watch the last one...and hopefully it'll answer all my questions.

I haven't read the book but a friend of mine has and he told me that scenes have changed but only characters not in the right place etc. And to spoil movie one and two. Movie 1: Keiji and co. find out that Tomodachi is gonna destroy the world, Keiji confronts tomo and he finds out his identity presumably and later the monster he used to destroy the world blows up leaving a cliffhanger
Great movies but i really don't get how Friend expected to end the wold with 2 weak flying saucers that they took down really easy and 1 robot, really? That anoyed me.
Psalidoklis Tsakos a virus..... instead Of saucers , could have been air balloons, we are talking about The most letal virus ever, dont be so little minded
I heard many things are changed from the original manga just for dramatic integrity however overall I have watched both 1 and 2 and I love the movies. However I think there might be two endings to this movie

hmm, u're absolutely wrong. that statement goes to Naruto. 20th century boys was meant to be twisted, even if it's a bad ending. it's about human's emotions and the publishing company have nothing to do with it. as you see from his latest works, the "monster", urasawa naoki always had the best storytelling.
if you want to know who is the third friend, i recommend 21th century boys. its only 2 books and including the rest of the story.

Urasawa friend couldn't explain the incident well,Fukube also fell, died in virtual reality.But still the series was very good at first, it fell towards the end
holy smokes. holy... T_T. well in all honesty, the trailer doesn't look as epic as in my fantasy. but as long as it doesn't ruin the story, and doesn't totally scrap my great memories of the manga, it's gonna be shit-in-your-mouth AWESOME

The one thing I really didnt liked was the fact that EVERYONE survived that huge explosion. Also I didnt like the fact that Kenji survived the second battle with the robot. How did he tip it over? And how did he escape.
It didnt feel like it didnt need an explanation, it just felt to me like a poor excuse from Naoki to keep certain characters in the story.
Im really sad, it all started so good and ended so weak.
Well i do agreed that kenji suddenly survived the explosion was kinda bullshit.

The first friend was Fukubee and the second was Katsumata

These movies were so bad compared to the manga. Especially this one and the second one.
@Godziller66 well if you like the manga i suggest you watch the movie. i'd love to see how much they want to make this movie close to its manga...but if you dont like it, then...yeah.

I read all of the manga and I agree that it really started to suck after awhile. I'm not trying to offend anyone or anything. Just my opinion. It was really good for awhile but it got bad fast somewhere past the halfway point. I think I'm going to watch the movies sometime, though.

Weak movie. But the post-credit is worth it imo.
It's a very good manga serie but when the author makes it so long then it turns silly and boring, i read every pic of the manga when i first read the first part and skip a lot after it.
