    Exactly, you just have to ask. Someone will be there to help. The more I hear it. The more I realise that someone is actually ready to help. I am really grateful❤❤.

    For the last 4 years I've been launching sites with only a surface level understanding of DNS records. Pinging domain names from the terminal and changing/removing/resetting DNS settings based on the type of intuition I imagine a farmer develops over the years. Your explanation had me go "ohhhh that's why that went wrong" a bunch of times. Love your style of talking through issues you ran into.

    loving everything about this haha. How you were not afraid to ask questions and how everyone's sharing knowledge. This is so cool.

    Great video. DNS is one of those things that seems mystical at first and takes a while to understand but once you get it you get it! 👍

    Your router will also cache DNS - also when it gets to the server there could be a load balancer / proxy server that will again route that info to the correct server on that top level IP

    hey Cody,
    can you explain how did you manage to protect your web app by DDoS or other attacks,
    so if one ever deployed their app on AWS/Vercel wouldn't be overcharged if those attack happened, thanks!

    I have the same issue last month my website that was hosted on vercel went down, then I disabled and re-enabled the custom dns on namecheap and it started working again

    Great video. Could you explain those A, Cnames, TXT etc

    • @WebDevCody
      @WebDevCody  5 місяців тому

      A records are for telling the ip address of the server the domain should point to, cname is to tell what other domain or subdomain the domain should point it, txt are just arbitrary records that services use for validating ownership (how do we know you actually own this domain? Well you create a txt record, we’ll check you set it, and then we’ll trust you) type of thing

    Cody, i love your work, but these thumbnail images are terrible... i refuse to click these kind of thumbnails, if i found someone new guy on youtube... I'm following you since 60K so i'm still gonna watch your content (bcf it's really good), but please don't go on this thumbnail hype train... but that's just one opinion, maybe i'm wrong. ;)

      Man, people on the internet… can’t make everyone happy. If his thumbnails bother you that much you should just unsubscribe… why put yourself through such “terrible images” every time. You’re in charge of what you expose yourself to, you don’t like it? Don’t expose yourself to it, better yet just block him.

      @WebDevCody  5 місяців тому +19

      a little harsh, but I've seen a huge increase in views by doing some these thumbnails; so if you care for me as a content creator, it shouldn't be an issue.

      Saying "they are terrible" it's just your opinion man which is subjective.. to me they look fine. Ultimately he has to run a business here, and if they are proven to work for him, then nothing you can do pal ;)

      Your thumbnails are great, and the only thing that matters is your analytics, CTR etc :)
