Hey Jeremy you literally took the words out of my mouth when it comes to mainlining...longer vegging doesn't interest me at all as a home grower. Occasionally it's fun to experiment with various training methods in a separate tent but in general I tend to grow and flip rather quickly with good results.

I dropped my metal gate on one girl and her main stalk was hanging on by half it's skin, and I stood it back up and didn't touch it. She's since healed up, with a big hole thru the middle of her main stalk, made for a nice even canopy 😅

mainlining in my experience is. its fun and its great for plant count control and uniform buds I go bit hard on calcium and silica to make them though as . But theses days I like just to load up a bed. scrogging is the one I just don't like( it feels like a plant prison and the vegging is just a bore ). also fishtank water is great a tank with fish and shrimp( a true eco sytem, Living tanks) has the nitrogen cycle and with shrimp you need to have a healthy amount of phosphorus loving bacteria. I put Ro water in my tanks and weekly water change goes to a compost extract or ferments . cheers for the content and your time .I love to pass this stuff on to others . never a master always a student.

Your aquarium water from a balanced aquarium is an amazing thing to use to water your plants. A large percentage of the aquatic microbes that are beneficial to aquariums can also survive in soil and do great things for your plants. The aquarium water will likely have a decent amount of nitrogen unless the tank is heavily planted. Watch out for that nitrogen burn!

    PEAT! Let's go:
I hear that it's not that we'll run out of peat moss, but it's the CO2 released from the bogs when harvesting that is abundant and dangerous. What can you tell me about this? About peat in general?
    GO!

In regards to sustainability coconut coir is actually more sustainable because the aging of coconuts is far quicker than the aging of peat moss

3:43 if I was in Europe I would use coco but here in the US peatmoss is cheap and ethically harvested. I have 3 worm bins (to farm vermicompost) and 2 earthboxes. I still have not used up my 1st 3cu-ft bail of peat moss and its been 3 years. I don't know if I will ever need to open my 2nd bail that has just sat outside unopened. This living soil system does not seem to consume it. In my 2x2 breeding tents I use salt based fertilizers BUT I then run the soil back through the worm bins to clean it up and I have zero problems.........WORMS are the secret to sustainable soil.

0:00 Hello and Welcome! / New Swag!
    0:56 Have you tried Mainlining?
3:43 Why use Peat & Coco Coir in big living soil beds if its broken down after one or two seasons? Why not use 50/50 Vermicompost and Pumice with Rice Hulls for mulch?
7:48 Can I use water from my fish tank to feed my plants?
9:40 Why do you have your lights so high up and set to a higher output rather than setting them lower and to a lower output to save on energy?
11:35 I know "Ice Flushing" is bro science, but what would happen if you used chilled water in an Earth Box?
13:30 My H20 is at 8.0pH, when I add 1.5oz (of Thrive) to a gallon of water it goes down to 5.2pH, will the soil buffer it out?
14:41 I'm using the "3.0" (Soil) in 15 gallons, I've been using "The Big Six" (Nutrients) but my plants are showing Boron deficiencies, thoughts?
16:25 Do Trichomes ripen more after you chop?

Jeremy, thanks a lot for answering my question. Really appreciate it. I think its a complex topic, but a interesting one for sure.
IMHO peat isn't sustainable anywhere in the world (CO2), but Coco unfortunately isnt as well.
So sourcing 100% locally (home made compost, sand and other local aeration products) would be absolutely necessary a real long time sustainability. To me this is the most important thing when we are talking real organic gardening especially when talking long lasting big outdoor beds (indoor growing isn't any substantially at all, of course).
Sustainability is a huge topic over here in Europe, but I dont know the current state in the US.
I also think that one problem are modern genetics. Can't really believe that pure landraces (or other plants like all kinds of vegetables) are that demanding regarding "the right soil recipes".
I have seen great results in quite poor soul with some really natural genetics out there in some outdoor grows.
Maybe the demanding use of peat/coco in growing cannabis is also one due to demanding modern genetics due to long year high selective indoor breeding too?
Would love to to hear and see more about outdoor growing here at this channel because its the future for most of us, especially regarding more and more legalization happens all over the world. I done a lot of indoor grows back in the 90th. And while its kind of easy in a way due to full control and with proven genetics, its also becomes a bit boring... Still seeing this huge legal indoor growing facilities made me sad a bit.

Mainlining opens the plant up and allows it to get bushy in size when you get it spread out by doing this once. I think it works great indoors if you have certain container size and wattage. You can do this style of mainlining outdoors in 400 gallon pots and produce monster size plants by topping two to three times, this is usually achieved by longer veg times but the yield is massive. All Strain dependent. Thank Jeremy for all your support with your channel and BOS. Weednerds

I mainlined one of my outdoor plants this year. Since I started it indoors in my tent and actually fairly early so I topped it at 4th node cut all the branches below it and kept topped the new tops probably about 10 times until it took it outside. It slowed it down enough to perfectly explode with growth outside and the structure is very easy to train.

As for adding ice to mimic nature and bring on senesces as would autumn:
Think about outdoor plants, by the time they are getting very cold rain before harvest the roots are very deep
and the temperatures don't effect the roots. Oppositely if you want to mimic fall lowering the ambient temps works!
This summer with the AC on, I got nice purpling at the buds plumped into week 12!

Hello Jeremy. I saw the episodes where you harvested and dried the male pollen a season or 2 ago, but I must have missed any episodes where you used the pollen to pollenate any female plants. How long a period of time from pollination to harvest of seeds do you need in order to get a mature seed? Could you please steer me to those episodes if you've already filmed them? Yo yo! I'm in 30 gals and monitor the top with ecowitts and don't let them get below 25% minimum. One day when my plants weren't looking the best and I didn't know why, I decided to cut slits in the side at the bottom and stick in the moisture meter. Turns out they were all down around 10% so naturally I bottom watered till they drank what they wanted. You have vastly more experience, but I'm thinking if you can be able to not have to bottom water at all, than I should be able to. Since then they have been looking healthy but when I water I haven't given more than 5% but the bottoms keep drying out faster. I'd love to see you try getting a reading from the bottom of the pots/beds at some point in season 5. Maybe the bottoms are fine being a little dryer as long as the top is good? Would possibly going harder on the Q help it spread the moisture to the bottom better? Sorry this is so lengthy!

Jeremy. I would like to try multi-croping indoors. What other berries/fruits/vegetables do good in a tent that's always 18-20 hours light? And what would do good in a tent that cycles 12/12 and 6/18 light cycle? I am currently trying strawberries under my mother/ autos as I'm pretty sure they won't care, but it's a test I don't know what odd things might happen.. maybe the berries won't produce like a photoperiod plant.. thanks. ~pres~

Might seem like a stupid question, But can you post the exact measurements for the pvc piping needed to make the actual living soil bed for a 4x4 bed and trellis. I know it seems simple 4x4 duh…. but there’s elbows and connectors that take up some of the inches. And also the four pipes that go down into soil. Sorry if it’s stupid, hopefully you’ve got the measurements already ,thank you

I stopped by my local grow shop looking for basically the cheapest liquid bloom fertilizer they had for some of the wife's outdoor potted plants that we're in obvious need of phosphorus. The owner recommend I try Dr. Earth golden bloom liquid fertilizer mostly because it was super cheap. I wouldn't be using it on my weed plants or veggie garden because I have most of your products for that. It would only be used on outdoor flowers because it smells horrible.

I have 5 months a year that I can grow indoors in the midwest (the other place is way too humid and doesn't have enough room). My question is, it still possible to use living soil? Obviously the soil will be sitting unused for about half of the year. If it is still possible, how do I "wake up" the soil. Or should I use a different growing style in my situation? Hey man i think the guy asking the question ab cold water during late flower was prob referring to people trying to increase potency/terps/purpling by dumping it on the soil which is always kind of funny to me bc genetics will determine the pheno and color along with cold environmental conditions. Not sure cold water flush does anything but I'm open to being convinced otherwise

Ok I gotta ask. How long have you been training for?? You have dropped the jujitsu reference a ton. My son has started taking classes three times a week and me wanting him to practice more I am now starting myself. I’ve wanted to for years. My long time friend is a brown belt and he’s now a trainer at the gym. It’s been awesome.
