With love and respect, as a Nashville native, it was kind of hard to see you visiting Nashville the day after the Covenant shooting without seeming to acknowledge the tragedy at all.
I totally understand, but Jordy had close friends who had students who attended the school. And after having dinner with some families directly affected that night, it felt more sensitive to them to not post much on their behalf, besides the one story I reshared. I felt it was more important to give those families space rather than adding too much of my own voice to their pain. It’s a horrible tragedy and heartbreaking.
You said this so well. I agree, when I heard she was going to Nashville I wondered what the timeline was and if it was just before or after the shooting had occurred. I think even just a brief mention would have felt more natural. It was a big, painful thing that happened, and not acknowledging it feels strange. I really support Michel so definitely not trying to throw shade her way. It was just something I noticed. I can see how for a Nashville resident it would have been doubly hard. Edit: I don't use TikTok, Instagram or FB so if something was mentioned there, I didn't see it. I'm sorry if my comment seemed overly critical--it was more that the omission seemed odd. I agree UA-camrs have total autonomy over what they choose to post. It's probably a pretty tricky line to walk.
I think that in the face of such a horrible tragedy, there's no right answer for what a UA-camr should or shouldn't do. I think Michel was trying not to make that tragedy about herself.
