I don't have a learning disability but I am autistic and have dyslexia so I I like to read the easy read materials first, and then read the full version. I find it helpful to see the main points first, and then get the detail from the full version. I really agree that sometimes the pictures seem unhelpful and don't make much sense.
If I think about it a lot, I can guess why the person who made the easy read leaflet chose those pictures, but I can also understand why they would be confusing for people who actually need help understanding the words. I think that people who make easy read leaflets often just put in pictures becuase there is a rule to say that easy read leaflets should have pictures. But the people making the leaflets don't think very much about what would actually make the words easier to understand.
