That mission is so touching man. It really shows how just weeks before everything went to shit, they were such good friends and partners. Almost makes me shed a tear in retrospect, the moment Hosea died was the moment the gang lost all hope for the future.
Absolutely, no character in video game history has shown a more natural progression of resensitization than Arthur Morgan does. The game captures the romance of the wild west perfectly with cinematic mode, with his struggle with Mary Linton due to his own conflicting morals, with the art in his journal showing the his art hidden thoughts of his mind, and the interaction between characters like with John in the end of chapter 6 or the Nun, or even with the Downes family. The game does an amazing job of convincing you that Arthur Morgan and many of the other characters are real (except Sadie, she's amazing up until the epilogue, then she's just an annoying and forced female badass in my opinion) But almost at every turn in the vast world of RDR2, there truly is an immersive story being told, whether it's aliens visiting some old cult, a giant in a mountain, or the story of a native American tribe just living in poverty due to the falsely labeled "civilized" government. Truly, this game leaves so much opportunity to immerse the player in role play, that it's actually a shock this sort of game is even technologically possible today.
I've always appreciated Rockstar bringing in unknown or lesser known voice actors for their major characters. Not only do they get elevated by working on such a genre defining project, but we also get to appreciate a cast of voices without immediately identifying the real life person making it. Their voices belong to the characters in my head, I don't hear Rob, I hear Marston. And that's a damn blessing, since I can immediately identify Mercer, Willingham or Ashley Johnson voices.
Uh aren't they known for bringing in known voice actors? Samuel L. Jackson played Tenpenny and Ray Liotta played Tommy in vice city. No video game companies were able to bring in voice actors like that 20 years ago.
One of the Houser brothers said that after Vice City and dealing with the regretted Burt Reynolds' bs and massive ego, they don't do celebrity names anymore (minus Samuel Jackson). Also, big names = $$$.
Well, to be fair, they didn't decided for lesser known actors because of good will. They had a really hardr time with some of the actors in the past, especially Burt Reynolds and Ray Liotta. Eventually they decided to go for unknown actors, because they wouldn't act the same way as these primadonnas. So in the end, they did it for themselfs and not for the unknown talents out there. Plus: they doesn't have to pay Roger Clark the same amount of many as a big star from hollywood.
My favorite part was near the end when Rob just got done telling everyone that he has not played the game yet because he has two young boys and it would not be fair to them if he was off playing it by himself. Then Roger says that he has two boys also and he played the hell out of it! That cracked me up.
I love that at every convention they go to, when someone asks them about “voice acting” they get pissed and have to fully explain performance capture every time
cannot believe that people attending conventions don't know how games are made, they've been mocap led for a decade - it also means we get loads of dumb questions
I could easily see a prequel where you play as a young Dutch organizing and recruiting for the gang, as well as an actual sequel where you play as Sadie.
Agreed! I would really like to see a DLC Of Dutch And Hosea, Maybe play as either I wouldn’t mind, but To see how they got the gang members like Arthur, John, etc It would be real cool to see how they acted and how young they looked too.
I see that a lot but it wouldn’t make sense unless you have a different protagonist. The biggest problem is that the gang weren’t killers or were trying really hard to not kill anybody. They were just thieves and con artists. They started kill people when they realized that the Wild West was starting to die and were being hunted. A “Red Dead” game where you can’t kill anybody isn’t a Red Dead game unless again, we are playing as a completely different and unknown character. I’m actually against continuing Jack’s story too because I think the whole series concluded perfectly with him killing Ross. What he became is the culmination of the RDR2 and RDR1’s story. He becomes the very thing that the gang and his family didn’t want him to become. Him killing Ross was the redemption of the gang, John, and the Wild West era. He does that by killing a man who helped take down outlaws including some of the gang members. It’s best to leave what happened to him to people’s own imaginations.
I feel like it would be cool if you could play as Arthur, or a gang member that survived black water and know what happened in black water because they talk about it in red dead 2
I love how every one of them realize how much this game means to the entire world. They KNEW this game was one of the most legendary things to happen. And they surely trained very hard to get it right.

@@tailsman47 Mods keep games alive even after years. But hey, of course a console peasant won't understand shite.

I want to watch these interviews but when I hear them I get a serious erge to play the game
Finished the game for the first time last night. Objectively speaking this game is a technical marvel. The total amount of people listed in the end credit sounded about right for a game as big as this one. I sound like a broken record when I say the writing is great.
The map.... absolutely incredible. So big. So packed full of life.
I was about to say, "Damn, Dutch a big one." Then I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and realized that he has my exact body type. . .
i always thought john marston was played by m.c gainey who plays roscoe in dukes of hazzard their voice is so similar.
Dutch is my favorite character in the game
...but do you have a plan? If so, I will have goddamn faith.
Then I bet you are also insane deep inside.
Rumuel Nathanael For liking a character in a video game? Lmao
Anson Ma Nope.
He's charismatic leader. But sometimes he underestimate things. Also, he's always looking fresh and clean compared to his gang members.
Respect the exclusive, that's why someone choose a particular platform.
Rob Wiethoff... things always turn out alright for that boah!
cant wait for this to drop on pc so i can enjoy it once again
I've been looking forward to this one.
I'm sitting here 3 weeks out from pc release and the anticipation has not eased up one bit. I can only game on pc thanks to adaptive technologies,1 handed controllers just don't do it for me...TY all for your years of hard work, what a lovely and supremely talented cast! TY All!
DisabledCable I envy you for getting to experience this game for the first time. I wish I could wipe my memories and play through this game again. Hope you enjoy your time in this amazing world
im just now playing this game and I LOVE IT! ATHUR FOR LIFE!!
One line I think of often is from the first game: “We die alone, but we live amongst men.” When John encounters a hermit. That line really moved me and I often think of it’s implications. We’ve got to be good to each other, man.
Great cast! Love em all!
Am back on 2023 just to listen again at John Marston 😁😁
