Why does it feel like Hansi looks like the most everyday guy ever. Like, he could be your uncle or your boss. But he happens to be the frontman for what is arguably the best metal band of all time (if not the best band period). I also want to know his vocal range. I've heard so many estimates, one of the most prevalent being 8 entire octaves. I want to buy that so badly. In any event, his vocal control is amazing. Just goes to show that you can never judge a book by its cover.

I think 'cause he's one of the rare metal dudes that never felt the need to prove anything to anybody. The songs told it all. Just see Wacken & 70-80 thousand people singing "The Bard's Song" like one soul. This band is immortal... and Hansi is God!! \m/
+Dara MagUiginn That's actually one of my favorite things about him. Even when he had longer hair, he still kind of looked like just any average guy. But I've always enjoyed the fact that he didn't feel he needed to meet any standard metal stereotypes. I'm glad he was never about the image of being a metal legend and just let the songs do that for them.

Hansi likes to put biblical references in his songs. The eclipse is referenced in At the edge of time, The holy grail, This will never end, This storm, The great ordeal, etc. I feel like he took inspiration from the verse in Revelation. The temple is also biblical but he distances from that by making it mayan

+SadoMessiahLP Not true, in Europe Power Metal ist quite big. Bands like HammerFall are widely known and Powerwolf had a number 1 album recently with Blood Of The Saints. Sabaton is massively popular in the Metal community and Blind Guardian themself have consistently charted in the top 10 of the german album charts since Nightfall.

SadoMessiahLP I don't live in Austria so I don't know how popular the genre is there. But especially in germany and scandinavia, Power Metal is quite huge. Not as huge as mainstream Pop music of course, but as huge as Metal gets nowadays.

I saw Hansi during their last North American tour in Houston, TX.. He was very accommodating to all of his fans that met him despite being exhausted from he concert and I am very proud to have met him. Thank you Hansi and Blind Guardian for a great experience.

Today I was at work lifting some heavy things, revisited this song i haven't heard since seeing it ten years ago, and found myself singing along and Even head banging 😅 almost teared up 😢 like having the oldest spark you rember lighting up again.
