    Man I love your wow and yugi videos, but idk what to think about these hearthstone ones. Idk if you just do them for money or just have no idea about what you are talking, but putting Mukla on top 3 when he got played in Drek'thar decks during the year of the griffon itself is pretty stupid.

    Old holy light was actually better as it gave more flexibility. Healing a friendly minion is generally stronger then healing your hero. Even if the minion would only make use of half the healing.

    Back again for correction: King Mukla is the big one here, Mukla was or still is a commonly used tech option, in aggro decks, it was run by several aggro in the last tournament or the one before mianly hunter. I am really happy, that silence priest got its justice after someone else or i mentioned, that it was a meta deck at some point in the past, even if it wasnt tier 1 or tier 2 (as i mentioned)

    So many of these cards were just not used at all in any deck but the cards obviously designed for and around silence priest being put on these "worst" lists so often seems wrong to me. Yes those decks are mostly meme decks and not actually competitive. But it's still a functional deck archetype and these cards fill those niches perfectly. I don't feel like it's justifiable to call these cards so bad when they have such a specific and decent function while so many cards see no play at all or are just objectively power crept by other cards.
    whatever tho not my list. Just my opinion. I think calling the silence priest cards bad is a bad take.

    • @protoss5758
      @protoss5758 2 роки тому

      They synergise with a deck that doesn't even run them? So what?
      Silence priest uses Whispers of the deep and Shellfish shellfish. It has minion tutors so it has less than no need for razorleaf, drawing it means not drawing handmaiden or shellfish. Focused will is an incredibly bad card. Some suboptimal bronze league decklist running them doesn't justify the cards, and they are objectively power crept.

    Mukla was played a lot in Drek'thar decks since he could be cheated out without triggering his battlecry. He was a particularly common threat in Duels as well because of the Drek'Thar hero power to cheat out neutral minions.

  • @WoodsRunner

    1. Mukla has seen play with cards that cheat out 3 drops or beasts, like Drek’thar

    Shadowform deserves to be at number 10 spot because its a bad card, not because of the legendary. Its equivalent to wildfire from mage, which saw no play when it was 2 mana, and unlike wild fire, the second copy its useless.

    Video idea: top 10 decks from early days of hearthstone. Could be just from the vanilla days or up to the first expansion or whatever you feel like would be the best for the video. I spent a lot of hours in hearthstone back in the day (I think I quit in the old gods expansion) but it started becoming way too complicated for me with each new expansion. I thought it would be a nice nostalgic time to hear about some old best decks.

    If hearthstone had minion triggers which proc'd when you gain life, then the mechanic would definetly see play. MtG sees regular life gain shenanigans with cards that make opponents lose life when gaining life (green-black/white-black) or buff a board when doing so (green-white, very oppressive cause life gain and counters are in both colors). Even mono black could do it last set with a card called Vito, Thorn of Dusks Rose: you pay like 5 (2B) to give your whole board lifelink and it has the static effect where any life you gain is dealt as damage to target opponent. You're right to say they aren't making use of it, but it's more likely they don't want to considering that intense life gain strategies are up there with mill strats in the category of "cool way to wim the game, terrible way to lose the game" because disrupting the strategy still leaves you at a more objective disadvantage as opposed to a board wipe (they still have 75 life to your 20, or you only have 10 cards left). In hearthstone, though, the fact you CANT go higher than base health makes the trade off way more viable. Do you cast a 2 mana heal for 8 at full to, for example, draw four cards where a minion effect is "the first time you gain life, draw half that many cards" or save it for when you also need 8 health to prevent lethal? HS can avoid the degeneracy of life gain easily, but its even more niche than weapons so that begs the question of why development would evenmove in a direction that affects so small a population of cards (ignoring players for the mo cause they will play different decks). If life gain as a mechanic never sees utility beyond a few classes even more than weapons are, it will always be subpar compared to other strategies able to take advantage of more and different card interactions. Recall how I brought up the examples in MtG colors: there are white, black, and green cards that build around life gain as a strategy, and they can be used in any combination or in exclusion of the others to whatever success. Consider even incredibly niche effects in one color like counterspells (only in blue, one would hope) which fit into different strategies in monocolor or may be functionally different in decks featuring two or more colors.
    Tl;dr stop nurfing/buffing cards and just make cards to fill in the blanks

    • @murlocaggrob2192
      @murlocaggrob2192 2 роки тому

      One of the chief problems with life-gain synergies is that they're completely dead cards if your hero isn't damaged. In Magic and YuGiOh, you can exceed the starting health total, but not in Hearthstone. If you're playing against a Control deck, there's a good chance that your deck is full of dead cards. And you can't run self-damage either since you'll just lose to aggro.
      It's why Armor synergies have traditionally been very useful while straight healing synergies are not.

    Snap Freeze is actually a decent Nagaling spell for Mage in small spell Naga Mage, since it already runs Flurry and gets stapled to a 1/1 that costs -1 mana... But I'd never run it in the deck 😂
