I'm still pissed of Terminator didn't get an animated series. Bad guys are safe to kill being robots & they favour plasma weapons, so bullets not an issue.
Another R rated movie that could have been a good cartoon (this time a comedy), Revenge of the Nerds. Think about it! They’d have to take out the drug use, alcohol, and sex/nudity. But the bulk of the story is essentially a prank war between the Tri Lamdas (the nerds) and the Alpha Betas (the jocks). And a lot of the characters can translate easily to cartoon form. Kids would definitely love it. They could even have used the theme song from the original movie.
5:21 Actually, his face is not the original. The surgeons skinned his skull, putting it on a machine's head, like a Terminator. They did this, because while they erased his memories....it IS possible residual memories might emerge, and if he saw his humanity totally gone, he might go berzerk. (the debut story of the 2006 Cyber/Cybusmen had them all go insane when they memory block chips were shut down) The Tv series even showed he was essentially a brain in a metal skull.
11:08 Lewis I know you're in a kid's show version of an R-rated movie, but this guy does kind of deserve it, also the cops can legally kill people self-defense and all (and in some cases they kill innocent people).
17:59 Maybe this cannon uses some kinetic energy field amplifier thing (as a bullshit version of science) to make the golf balls hit harder. I'm trying okay, I have nothing better to do.
Here's a fun fact: Apparently the budget for what would have been the thirteenth episode of the 80s Robocop cartoon was given to Pryde of the X-Men (The failed animated X-Men pilot that was the basis for the X-Men arcade game)
So basically RoboCop ultimately gave birth to the awesome 90's X-Men cartoon, since that pilot did ultimately lay the framework for the actual series they made instead.
Alpha Commandos should get a DVD release. Why? To show future generations how NOT to adapt Robocop. Alpha Commandos is the worst Robocop thing ever. Yes, even worse than 3, the 2014 remake, the direct to video movies, and the live action series combined.
"Murphy is gone." Uh wasn't the entire point of the first movie he regains his humanity and it ends with him calling himself Officer Murphy...did they see any of the movies or just go with the cliff notes version of the novelizations of the movies?
Dear God! The first movie is amazing. The remake is honestly decent (yeah I said it). 2 & 3 are both terrible for different reasons. The first cartoon is mediocre and Alpha Commando is trash. The Series and Prime Directives were pretty mediocre, with potential, but both disappointing. A couple good comics and games. Man... this franchise is a middling failure.
As far as the second RoboCop animated series goes the comparison of Robocop to inspector gadget goes I like RoboCop better because he's way smarter than inspector gadget.
Anthony Asencio glad someone else realises under the skin just more metal not areal mouth. Someone should try, nearest was that splatter punk, but he wussed out.
I am sorry but i need to be honest about something & diss agree about how bad robocop alpha commando might have been. I love the show & i believe that it was a great take on the character sho i will say that some weapons that he has he may not have beeded but still it's a joy to watch even now. I honestly am sick of poeple putting down a great show just because it's not like the movies or the 80's series that i hated back in the 80's I will also note that yes they should've made his family a little older but it's the story behind it that i loved the most & yet nobody talks about the cool voice that says the weapon he is about to use as if noone here it & yet i do all the time. In fact i made a game out of it by guessing what he will use before the voice sais it. That's how much fun i have watching still with robocop alpha commando. I actually don't really care for the movies or the old series but i love this one & i rish it could get some respect from other besides just me. & yes i like agent nancy miner a lot more than ann lewis because she's tuff & even looks better. That can i say i like dark haired woman.(even animated one's lol) Please understand this is just how i feel & i will always love this series 7 i totally wish it could come back 7 maybe continue the story line from the last episode & give new people a chance to see a robocop that's not so 80's or a tuff as the stuped movies. That is my comment. Take it or leave it i don't care but i wanted to say my feelings on it & thank you for listening.
Thanks for sharing. Alpha Commando could have been good if it hadn't been RoboCop. It honestly feels like someone pitched a goofy sci-fi action comedy cartoon with a robot kind of like Inspector Gadget. And the company remembered that they had the license to RoboCop and shoehorned him into it. Silly gadgets, grappling cords, roller blades, etc. Super silly one-liners. It just doesn't fit.
Love robo wasn't my first violent movie though I think the first was some Steven Seagal movie. maybe "under seize" I honestly don't remember but it was the first time I ever heard bones cracking in a fight sequence in a film. So RoboCop wasn't my first violent movie but I do agree with you it should have been.
I'm not upset about Robocop '88 only having twelve episodes and Alpha Commando getting forty. Any more episodes and '88 would probably have forgotten that it was supposed to be a RoboCop adaptation too; and after getting over the particularly awful start, and the fact that it's not an actual RoboCop story, Alpha Commando is a fun if generic superhero cartoon. I wouldn't say it's ever a particularly strong series but if I were to judge it by just the first twelve episodes I would probably just throw it in the bin.
I have a vague recollection of watching the initial animated series in '88 on Saturday mornings. From what I remember, I always found it frustrating because it seemed like, more often than not, RoboCop would be severely damaged and have to return to the station to be repaired... like every episode. Not sure if that was just the few episodes I saw, but I felt like he should have been more unstoppable... or at least that was the perception of 6 year old me. I mean, my knowledge of RoboCop, prior to seeing the cartoon, was primarily derived from RoboCop action figure commercials. My mom thought the GI Joe cartoon was too violent when I was that age, so I was not about to see any of them films. That said, I imagine any toy commercials would have portrayed their robotic police officer protagonist as fairly indestructible, so him getting mangled probably was pretty shocking departure from knowledge of the character. Incidentally, as an unrelated aside, I kinda like the '98 animated revival's theme song... Reminds me of RoboCop.

Robocop getting a cold is stupid

Robocop and Transformers Animated are both cartoons with robot heroes in a futuristic detroit. The reason why there is no crossover is beyond me.
3:36 Sounds like a lot of the cops out there.
Only difference with Hedgecock is he ain't tasering folks.
I wish the robotcop the animated series was canon honestly
Maybe Shout Factory should bring back robocop into a DVD
Hacking, not entirely unprecedented; RoboCop 2 reprogramming.
16:30 The Data East Arcade game said 1990.
Also, in Prime Directives, Murphy's tombstone has the year of his death as 1990.
Robocop is a cop we have to have in the real world.
Cool girl 123 it'll happen, though will start in military
Robocop Robocop...Robocop....Robocop what a great song this is.
"Murphy is gone." Uh wasn't the entire point of the first movie he regains his humanity and it ends with him calling himself Officer Murphy...did they see any of the movies or just go with the cliff notes version of the novelizations of the movies?
I thought the 1988 cartoon was ok.
People actually getting hit by lasers take that GI Joe lol
can you look at spawn the Animated Series :-)

Mouth isn’t real they made it look human for design, they mention in the movies a few times. Shooting there wouldn’t do anything but graze the design

Home detroit tigers

yeah~ back in 2013, that film should be people's first R-rated film......but!~~~~ now with Deadpool, i think that's debatable now.
deadpool: the ladybug ninja??
and what does that mean?
Well, to me Deadpool looks like a ninja in a ladybug suit ;)
Sandra Dermark Too me he looks like Spider-man meets a ninja meets a ladybug.
biaaaaaaaaaaaatch
the Old Man... is that symbolic???
+Sandra Dermark a third example of unfortunate surname: Simon bar Sinister...
+Sandra Dermark as in bar sinister: a mark of bastardry
Mild Insult/slur.
I actually liked alpha commando..
Shame on you
