  • In this video we get to finally wheel Golden Mountain offroad park. We'll some what my jeepnwas still down so my buddy JD Mcginnis let me ride with him. This is an awesome park that your rig definitely needs to be a little built for. We had a great time at the park as always.

@@J33PNROUND for sure on glad it’s reopening and a good time for sure! Was fortunate enough to spend time there in the early days of trails/park so glad to have that as an option again.

SFWDA going in the direction of supporting private parks for hardcore trail riding is a good thing. Public lands need to be supported, but there is very little appetite for hardcore riding on public lands in the South. The biggest obstacle for a private entity seems to be liability insurance.

@nicholascooper1193 I 100% agree that was the new owners of Golden mtns biggest obstical was insurance. But Southern is for all riders even the bouncer which like Bo said we all started somewhere it's wouldn't be far to quit on those guys just because they moved up in tire size.. all I can say is Southern is Definitely moving to give back to everyone and helping keep all parks open old and new.

@@J33PNROUND I'm just glad the new owners seem to want the park to be open. I've been involved in some capacity with GMP since the beginning of the offroad park aspect, and the last owners didn't care about the offroad park, and their property management company saw it as a nuisance (my opinion).

So. There were some "stockish" rigs out there. But basically Golden Mountain is a 37's and up park???

@moxieoffroadtv ya they was doing easy like connector trails. That's why there is no real video of them.

Good to know. We wanted to come when we first saw that it was a SFWDA event. Then got to thinking we weren't set up for it.

I was in my IFS Tacoma on 31s with only a front locker. The easy connector/loop/boundary trails are pretty tough in it. On a dry day, something with small tires/lockers/good skid plates can do a lot of the trails. I used to run a straight axle Toyota on 33s... but yeah 37+ tires get you up out of the pecker rocks better.
