I prefer cargo pants over fanny packs. There's always a risk of forgetting the bag somewhere, it's rubbing your chest, and feels awkward. I have Nokia 800 Tough (love the hotspot feature), Boox Palma (with emergency WhatsApp, reading apps, one game, banking app, Google Maps and some other utils) with a wallet case (2 cards: driver's license and credit card) and home key and a car key. That's it. And a Casio wrist watch, if that counts. :)
I wish I could wear the cargos to work! Love the 800 tough + Palma combination

@@jesperigor Is what good? Palma? Nokia? Yes, love 'em both, othwerwise I wouldn't be rocking them.
i have used linux for half a year now and it also helped me focus on all my tasks because of the fact that you can tailor every application to your needs and dont have any unnecessery things on your computer
I can't use windows anymore for real work, it just fights me with bloat-o-rama. Rolling with an old macOS and macports ATM. WindowsOS -> just an appliance now.

crazy how im still very digitally centered since i use digital apps to track habits and plan my day, while yours is still very analog and low tech, everything you need being at hand. its just cool to see how different our digitally minimal lifestyles are😊
Love the lemur case for the LP2, just got mine a few weeks back and its awesome just taking out the phone in this mini-wallet..I carry nothing else with me while I am out and I love it!

I love my Scottevest. It eliminates carrying a sling bag and has tons of distribution pockets. I also rock a jelly star!
starting my dumbphone journey tomorrow! getting a prepaid at&t cingular flip, i also have a lower end mp3 player, a kindle paperwhite and i carry either my switch lite or my modded 3ds with me everywhere :) currently have a lobotomized iphone se but doesnt work well for me

Love to see it - thanks for sharing! Is there a reason that you switched from the Hisense A9 to the Jelly Star as your EDC work phone?
Size and coverage. The A9 was missing some calls and other communication. So I switched due to that mainly. Going to a smaller screen was just an extra nice thing for me. I did not like the big size of the A9 after a few months.
I love the Jelly Star, but i was having issues with the voicemail so I moved back to my iPhone which i only use when i need to. Hopefully i can fix the voicemail issue and pair it with my Boox Palma which I recently ordered.

I am using niagara launcher on cat 22 flip. Its good but I wish it would be better optimised for small screens keyboard usage
Any plans on taking a look at the mini tank phone that Unihertz released? I like the specs of that phone but I'm waiting to see if they do the same in a slightly larger Jelly form factor, then I'll make my purchase.
I'll think about it. It's more of a full smartphone and since it's made by unihertz I think they'll deliver

BUT I think I’m gonna try out the lite plan from US Mobile.
Since it’s 1GB I’m gonna turn off all apps that use cellular data, that way I’ll force myself to only use my phone when I absolutely need to saving me the 1GB😆

I switched to US Mobile a month ago. It is great, but the voicemail icon doesn't show up on the Light Phone 2 when I get a voicemail. Do you have trouble with the voicemail icon not showing up when you get a voicemail on the Light Phone 2?
Yes. I do not get the icon as well sadly :(

That's fine with me. I guess I view digital minimalism in terms of screentime rather than devices. But from a true minimalist sense (items based), I definitely practice digital maximalism haha
Hi Jose, very refreshing to find your channel. I have enjoyed all of the videos i have watched so far. I was wondering if you have an promo or discount codes for the jelly star phone. After watching your video and doing some research, I believe this phone could help me on my path from freeing my mind. I read couple of Cal Newport's books and it has been a constant back and forth with myself with consistency. I believe that investing in dumbphones can help me disconnect and be more present and become less of a consumer. Ironically enough, I would like to partake in a bit more consumption to get to this goal. Can we use the freedom app on the jelly star phone ?

Closest is Jelly 2, but you have to minimize it yourself
I will just stick with my Android all in one as I have ptsd and struggle to get through a normal day without trying to simplify it.
I’ve been watching your channel for at least a year. Big fan. Off topic of your topics on your video. Your video production is looking better. Quick tip to enhance your quality just a bit more. If you’re editing your video on Premier Pro - you can right click on your audio and scroll to enhance audio. This will automatically make your audio quality much better. There’s other ways to do this on Final Cut as well. Also, your background music can be brought up to (around) -24db. Keep making videos! I enjoy watching your content.

I am now not a slave to my phone and guess what, people are struggling to buy an iPhone nowadays or high ends smartphone and here I am just upgrading myself to another dumb phone. HAHA. I have owned Soyes phone, two nokias (banana and 2780) and I own no social media at all. I only have whatsapp. The reason I have different dumbphone because of charging it took some time. But no rush since I'm not using it anyways. Just that, I own a nintendo lite and always play games with it. Can you share your experience using the playdate? Thanks Jose! love from Malaysia
The Playdate is a fantastic piece of slow gaming. It is quite fun to use and the games are extremely well made!
Is this phone any good Nokia 6300
The 6300 is a good phone with a couple features. If you can bear that it is a bit slower and it has no super smart apps for work, you should be good to go :)

When you have the ability to focus on one item (even 3 phones) with less distractions you better your self. Its like being "in the zone" which studies have shown to increase your productivity and time managment.
