I think you’ll really like BTS once you dive into their more introspective songs. They did a whole album series based on Carl Jung’s Map of the Soul. And before that, there was the Love Yourself series. Their lyrics and messages are a big reason for why most people became their fans in the first place.
That’s exactly how I met BTS! When I was going through the toughest time in my life! I cannot appreciate more and will remain as Army forever. We will grow old together 💜
You will love BTS if you dig in deeper, I promise! To start with, I suggest you watch a live performance of BTS Magic Shop or Answer:Love Myself with English subtitles. I have seen a lot of health professionals use these songs in their therapy because of the messages. One of BTS strongest advocacy is mental health awareness. They have a LOT of songs talking about their own experiences with mental health, their philosophies and their current state of mind. The guys mostly write their songs themselves (esp those written in Korean, Permission to Dance’s main writer is Ed Sheeran) so they always talk about their art in depth as well as their experiences with the subjects their songs are talking about. Their 3 English songs (which they mostly did not write) are all pop happy tunes because they just wanted to make people smile and give hope during this pandemic.
FYI they did incorporate the American Sign Language into their choreo. Normally their choreo are very hard for ordinary people to copy and dance to but this time they made it so easy so that the people of all ages race etc can dance too even using the sign language for people with disability like hearing impaired can dance too as you don't need permission to dance.
People are misleading the audience, fact is there is NO international sign language for the death, each country has its own sign language it developed organically. English speaking countries for example, has three varieties: American Sign Language (ASL), British Sign Language (BSL) and Australian Sign Language (Auslan). The sign language used in PTD is the American version. My daughter studied Auslan, please don't spread non factual information.
BTS should be required listening for all mental health professionals. I play them for my third graders daily and they love it. The majority of their songs cover topics about mental health and loving yourself. Their last (Korean) album, BE, was all about coping during the pandemic. One can’t help smiling when listening to BTS.
Hi, new sub here 👋 I strongly second Susan's comment 🙋♀️! BTS has brought me back to life, and they make managing my MDD and mod-severe GAD sooooo much more fun. The 3 moves highlighted in the chorus choreography integrate the International Sign gestures for “Enjoy,” “Dance,” and “Peace" (performed in that order). I mean... Who does that? Thankfully, BTS does! I believe it's a continuation of the message of comfort and hope that they have striven tirelessly to impart since their debut in 2013 and throughout the past 2 years - especially, from their 2020 summer smash “Dynamite” to their latest album, BE, and their 2021 chart-toppers “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.” Hand in hand with the joy and hope and optimism of “PTD,” though, comes another, quieter kind of comfort... the companionable promise that, despite our physical distance, we are all going through this together, and we WILL make it through. NAMASTE🙏 and welcome to the BTS Rabbit Hole! 💜 Fun fact: "PTD" was cowritten by Ed Sheeran 😀
BTS is definitely worth the journey. The song itself was "gifted" to BTS fans specifically to help uplift spirits because of mental health struggles relating to the pandemic. They even incorporated sign language into their choreo to include their hearing impaired/deaf fans who've also suffered greatly with isolation. But PTD is far from the first song that BTS has in their discography of 300-ish that address mental health issues...in fact, this is what they are known for by their global fans (ARMY). PTD is arguably the most lighthearted song, next to "Dynamite" (Grammy nominated), which they also wrote/released to lift spirits during the pandemic in 2020. As may have already been mentioned, the group is made up of 3 rappers (who are also the main songwriters for the group - albeit, Ed Sheeran is the main songwriter for PTD) and 4 vocalists...one of the rappers had expressed the depth of his own struggles w/ mental health via his rap lyrics early on in their career as a group (they debuted together about 8 years ago). And, as a group, they've always been active in their advocacy for mental health, particularly among youth (although their fan base is also multi-generational). With that, they maintain a partnership with UNICEF for their "Love Myself" campaign, promoting positive self-esteem and well-being in young people and children. Although most BTS songs are written primarily in Korean (w/ English mixed in), they've released albums in Japanese and have performed with Spanish lyrics as well. Needless to say, their positive messages in Korean are, nonetheless, well received globally (effectively through the use of interpreters, Closed Caption/Eng subs). And as a result of their outreach - in addition to their obvious talents as artists - BTS have become the #1 band in the world, with the largest fan base in world... just look at the unprecedented number of views their videos receive. Prior to the pandemic, they were consistently selling out stadiums within minutes. For now, they keep doing their thing, even if it has to be done virtually.

If you got confused about purple balloons, the meaning of it is in the teaser of the mv where it says "Purple balloon signals the end of COVID-19" and also, purple is like the color of the fandom and the day that they released that song is ARMY's (name of the fandom) birthday so it's like a gift to us. There's a lot of connection. Everything they do in their mv is very meaningful. We couldn't be more thankful to them💜💜💜

Pssst. Not Jimmy Kimmel, but Jimmy Fallon that they were on this week. During an recent Interview, the Members actually said this Song is meant for "Healing." Nevertheless, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
The fact that a lot of the choreo was sign language makes me smile. I have deaf friends. I really hope you will delve deeper into their discography. I think the message of self love and acceptance that they try to spread is a big factor in a lot of their songs. It is worth it to take a look at some of their other songs even though most are in Korean with english sporadically throughout. Check out Black Swan MV, and On Kinetic Manifesto Come Prima. You will be pleasantly shocked at the different styles. 💜
Everyone here is giving great advice so I'll just mention that BTS made a lost love song describing Pluto becoming a dwarf planet (losing its planet designation). BTS lyrics are amazing and so descriptive. Please keep reacting to them. We will enjoy watching your journey exploring BTS. 🎶💜🤗
Thank you for looking into our boys. As what my other co ARMYs mentioned, you'll prolly enjoy their other songs that discuss about mental health issues, depression, self love, bullying etc. Their discography is sooo diverse. Hope you enjoy the journey
I'm gonna agree with others. If you continue to check out BTS and all their other music, you will be pleasantly surprised. Most of their music contents deals with the human condition. I fell in love with the during the Love Myself era and have never looked back. I am a 62 yr old black female who credits BTS and their music with enhancing my quality of life. What a testament to these 7 musicians💜💜
Thank you for this reaction. First time I watched Permission to Dance MV I was in tears. The message of hope, diversity and using ISL (for which the WHO has thanked BTS ) made me happy and sad simultaneously. Be ready for a lot of suggestions regarding other BTS songs, they have a discography of almost 300. In the Spring they performed Blue & Grey for MTV unplugged(english subs),it's a hauntingly beautiful song about depression. Epiphany is a solo with the message of loving yourself. The Last is a rap song written and performed by one of the members ,describing his long battle with depression. BTS are strong advocates of mental health awareness. Apart from that they are brilliant vocalists, rappers, dancers, lyricists, producers and composers.
They used sign language as a part of their choreography, and in the end it’s they danced with all of their staff (like makeup artists, camera guys, sound guys, spot boys basically everybody who were involved in the making)
Starting with PTD as your first song is like hiding in the bushes of a 26k race and jumping out when you see the first runner coming, you kinda miss the whole thing. This is really just a summer feel good, get up and dance cuz Covid has everyone stir crazy. BTS is way deeper than this, much deeper. Check out the subtitled videos or the color coded videos. Their lyrics are beautiful and even though I don’t know the language, it’s very captivating. I appreciate your reaction and the positivity, thank you💜

You could really be impressed by their Map of the Soul Albums and the deep meaning behind their songs in general. The Map of the Soul is originally from C.G. Jung and the author of the book "Map of the soul" Dr. Murray Stein is a fan of BTS and speaks in depth about their music on the podcasts of Laura London or "Jungian Laura". He has some interesting things to say 😊
Sugas song “ The Last” off his solo album covers his personal struggles with depression, anxiety, sh, and etc. and you should react to the lyrics because it’s a song that hits hard and had beautiful but at the same time extremely sad lyrics.
You would love an earlier song of theirs, it incorporates some Neitzche tenets, its called blood sweat and tears. These young men have something to say in almost all of their mv/songs

I was glad you appreciated the song but it would be doper if you"ve gotten into the meaning of the song which is quite relevant to your profession :) This is just one of the many healing songs of BTS. This ones related to seeing hope despite the pandemic together with two other songs.
A lot of people report feeling good or more positive from the music & message of this video. At the end, is The entire staff that worked on the video, doing the sign language choreography together at the end of the shoot. You should also check out the R&B version of this song that just dropped today. It really shows off their vocals and has a really good groove!

I'm a former MH professional, and BTS truly are ambassadors for mental health and wellness. They dive deep into psychological concepts and they truly live up to their mission "music and artists for healing".
As a mental health professional, I think BTS would really appeal to you! They are all about self acceptance, self love...we Army celebrate them by creating charities, donating money to charities, and things like planting hundreds of thousands of trees. BTS donated 1 million dollars to BLM, and army matched it in 24 hours. They spoke at the United Nations on behalf of UNICEF advocating for disadvantaged children all over the world and ending violence against children. They have the biggest fan base in the world, they transcend gender, race, language, and age barriers, did you know that 46% of their fan base is over the age of 40? I hope you go down the BTS rabbit hole, I know thousands of us will join you on your journey! I really enjoyed your honest reaction, and I like how you connect with your viewers. Borahae 💜

This was a birthday gift to ARMY (their fans). They made an easy dance so we could learn it, english so we could sing along, included sign language in the choreography and sent out purple hope balloons to all of us. (Purple is ARMY's colour) 💜
There is also Sign language in the video watch their movements with their hands. to express their love for everyone including the Deaf. Bts has three rappers and four vocalist. Each member has their own solo projects, the rappers even have mixtapes which they release for free. They write and produce their own music, along with their companies in-house producers. Bts talks about real things such as: mental health, child abuse, cyber bullying, female empowerment, social and economic injustices and more. They talked about things that are forbidden to be talked about, almost being blacklisted by the South Korean government.
the choreo for the song is sign languages, so people with hearing disability can also enjoy. the message is you don't have to hesitate to be happy. "you don't need permission to dance." ;)
It is a happy and feel-good summer song. This is actually opposite of their previous concepts. Their previous concepts were more darker and complicated but they chose this happy uplifting concept for the meantime as it is still pandemic.

"I didn't know that boy bands can get up to 7 guys"
Me: Laughs in NCT
I was thinking this when he said that 😂
I was wondering who was gonna tell him... XD
Wow! Looking forward to getting to know more BTS music!
Including their bodyguards and CEO.
They also used sign language throughout the song to include their hearing impaired fans. I know you missed that. Thanks. 💜🎶💛
I appreciate your reaction and the positivity, thank you💜

if you're surprised that they are 7 members, NCT will just kill it
You could really be impressed by their Map of the Soul Albums and the deep meaning behind their songs in general.
If you love Michael Jackson you will love BTS they are AMAZING
You would love an earlier song of theirs, it incorporates some Neitzche tenets, its called blood sweat and tears. These young men have something to say in almost all of their mv/songs
I think as you are a psychiatry, you can look for their song “Zero A Clock” . That song is so deep, and that song help me when I got depressed.
Hey, thanks for your service in the mental heath. Where ever you work, please play this in your office to spread the message.
Trust me there's no going back now 😂 💜💜💜 it's a whole new universe here 💜ᗷTS⟭⟬💜💜🅐🅡🅜🅨⁷⟬⟭💜
Don’t mind me in laughing in NCT
This is their 3rd English song.
And it was written by Ed Sheeran.
I love that they danced with everyone who worked on the video at the end.

:)
"I didn't know boy bands could get up to seven guys" Me thinking about Seventeen and NCT xD
same lol
I follow you on Instagram. It's great to see you react to Permission to Dance. In this song, some do not know that they use ASL towards the end.
I am new, ARMY, aka BTS Fandom, and love the music they put out. Their music has a lot of meaning. They talk about life and struggles against the industry and their own lives.
51 years older ARMY (BTS) fan from Brazil 🇧🇷 and love the message of this song . This was for cheer up from the pandemic and even incorporate sign language 🤟. Thanks for the reaction 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I just found you, looking forward to seeing what you think when you get to the deep end of BTS 💜 looking forward to your journey 💜
This man came into this unbiased and open minded and I love him for it! You are a very respectable man and thank you for the amazing video
Please react to BTS ON kinetic Manifesto film you'll love it
I have to admit, PTD is not my fave, but I enjoyed watching that with you. I was smiling the whole way :)
PLEASE listen to Blue & Grey. It’s about having depressed feelings etc. 🥺 Such a beautiful song
More songs.. Epiphany, magic shop, answer love my self, blue and grey, butterfly.. Spring Day.
Just go down the rabbit hole as an army from their debut days i will only suggest this not more. You are in psychiatry then go from the start you will know why and what kind of hype these gentleman have.
I'm a former MH professional, and BTS truly are ambassadors for mental health and wellness. They dive deep into psychological concepts and they truly live up to their mission "music and artists for healing".
and they are SO respectful to every gender, race or sexual orientation
Borahae 💜
this mv and song tell us about ‘the wait is over’ which means this pandemic. thats why in the end all of the people on this mv take of their mask 🥺💜
Just found your channel! I will sub. 👍🏻 I am so glad to see a mental health pro such as yourself learning about BTS. I definitely credit not only their music, but also the wisdom of the guys, for helping me with self-actualization and self-acceptance during a crucial period of my life (and so much more). All the best to you!
OMG this is the first time I’ve seen a Ghanaian react to BTS! I’m happy
fyi, we joke around into fandom that therapists mad becuz we have 'people', 'everythingoes', 'magic shop', 'zero o'clock', 'sea', 'love myself' and many many more!!! they really HEAL us. you should deffo check them out and dive more into them. their lyrics, their message is what attracted a HUGE part of the fandom, and we r the most diverse fandom ever!
Creator: I didn't know boy bands could have that many members
Me: *laughs in nct*
Finally!! The've been talking about mental health issue from a long time. Apreciate what you've done, thank you for making time to review our boys.

Epiphany
Zero o'clock
Magic shop
Many more actually. And literally i really healed by their lyrics, when i stressed out i listen to them and loving myself more and more. Once again, thank you 💜💜💜💜
I feel like Magic shop, Mikrokosmos, Zero o'clock are great healing songs with lyrics that help me whenever I'm struggling.
This was a birthday gift to ARMY (their fans). They made an easy dance so we could learn it, english so we could sing along, included sign language in the choreography and sent out purple hope balloons to all of us. (Purple is ARMY's colour) 💜
Isn't purple BTS' color, too? Major cities light up their best-known monuments in purple when BTS arrives on tour.
@@dl7596
I kinda thought that was implied but yes.
💜😉👍💜
Can't wait for you to listen to Blue and Grey!
4:09 Wait till someone shows him NCT...
There is also Sign language in the video watch their movements with their hands. to express their love for everyone including the Deaf. I
was watching the video with my friend who is fluent in Sign language and she said They(BTS) did a Sign for "Dance". So they told the Deaf Community its oaky get up and Dance.
'i didnt know they can have 7' laughs in nct
Try to discover the message they want to pass it through.. its really healing and beautiful..
I would love to hear your reaction to their other songs specially to those songs that are connected to bighit universe! : ^_^
I love when mental health professional reacts to bts song. Btw, thanks for this honest reaction. I really wanted to know more on your opinion about bts song. Hopefully you able to do that in your leisure time. Im your new subscriber! 💜💜💜
React BTS / Sweet Blood and Tears
If you dive into BTS' discography, you will not be disappointed. You will have plenty of topics to talk about on your channel that has a nexus to what you actual want talk about.
The only Songs you dont need captions for, are The Songs: Permission to Dance, Butter, Dynamit
Actually...
You should check out Answer: Love Myself or their song Magic Shop =)
Thank you for your reaction. A couple of other BTS songs that you'd probably appreciate is Butter & Dynamite. Both of these are in English also and they're AMAZING. Would love to see your reaction to them. FYI...BTS has songs in Korean, Japanese and English so it's always good to have the cc's on like you did with this one. Looking forward to your reaction.
Beware the Bts rabbit hole. You have been warned. 4 years ago I just wanted to know their names…
Ditto! I heard about them a year ago. Thought, girl your too old to get into a boy band. Heard Dynamite by chanced. Hooked ever since. A friend and I are planning go to a concert soon as one come to our area. 💜
New subscriber now !✋
Please react to BTS's The truth untold, Love myself, Magic Shop.. 💜
Dont let this guy touch the Bangtan Boys, lol. Joking aside, I really want to know his opinion about BTS songs: Intro Persona, Interlude Shadow, and Outro Ego from Map Of The Soul 7. Or dont.... because he might made a 30mins video for it.
You’ll love them. They took it to a Whole new level with this music video they used Sign Language throughout the song.
A great song to start the day 🤧
i'm glad you liked bts, and if you want to hear more of their music i recommend the songs: fake love, on, black swan and idol, or check out the trilogy of their "love yourself" albums. i hope you like them!💜
They also have a song called “Butter” that recently came about almost 2 months ago. It’s in English as well and i recommend reacting to it :)
Yes there are 7 of them and they have been together since 2013 when they first debut.
BTS not kpop.
Yeayy, i think you should react more to their song with the lyrics 💜
I love seeing you smile throughout your reaction. It made me feel so good.
loved watching your first time reacting to BTS! so glad u liked them, they are awesome! (but u know this already hehe!)
the choreo for the song is sign languages, so people with hearing disability can also enjoy. the message is you don't have to hesitate to be happy. "you don't need permission to dance." ;)
It is a happy and feel-good summer song. This is actually opposite of their previous concepts. Their previous concepts were more darker and complicated but they chose this happy uplifting concept for the meantime as it is still pandemic.
