The other day or month Jorg or Sebastian from Asobo was giving a presentation about the new ATR aircraft. When commenting about the lack of proper documentation, he said that someone had approached him and offered to write a POH for the aircraft but asked an exorbitant fee (in the price range of a Ferrari as per Jorg or Sebastian's words). So Asobo declined the offer. Then they admitted they still have to write some documentation but they couldn't find the cheap resources to do so.
Hence the problem: lack of tutorials and documentation is essentially the need to save money. They just hope others (mostly YT creators) will do the tutorials for free. The next problem is that 90% of the "tutorials" out there are shite, either because the creators aren't RL pilots so they hardly know what they're talking about, or they're just talking nonsense.
I don’t understand why they’re outsourcing documentation though.
I’ve done software development for a living for 13 years or so, and writing documentation for your own software is part of it.
At the very least, Asobo should have an in house department that can interpret code comments and developer’s technical notes into user friendly documentation.
Software is software, whether it’s pretend airplanes or HR spreadsheets.
Since the last 2 updates , F2020 is a constant ctd even in safe mode or Vanilla mode ., zero addons installed . Waiting for 2024 now but will I be wasting more money again ?
