Congratulations on a great PA bear. We have hunted them in PA for years they are 1 tough animal to hunt under PA regulations. Your camp brings back memories we used to do the same thing until one of the woodstoves that had a automatic draft on it overheated and burned both tents to the ground. We have a lot of great memories camping in the tents didn't matter how cold it was we stayed warm
Glad for you guys!! We did three drives, two in Lycoming County, one in Clinton, saw nothing. Not even a squirrel. No acorns. Happy to see someone have success
Way to many deer being killed in the early seasons before they even have a chance to breed. Poor game management by PA. Looks like the boys had fun and got a great bear. My brother was up at the Muddy Creek Hess camp in Western Lycomin co. They got one small bear and a yote.
@ we drove by Muddy Creek and saw the cub hanging off the porch. It was just big enough to be a bear. I emphatically do not agree with you on deer management. PA is doing great. We are getting rock star class bucks every year.
i was just on my first bear drives this past sunday. its tough work for the drivers for sure. we didnt get any sunday but the same crew got 4 so far all different days. im going again on saturday, wish us luck!
Ha clay may have publicized it but the song is old. This rock version I got into before camp and would jam to it. It is keeping me from monetization on this video due to copyright but I don't care. It's my bear hunting jam
Congratulations. On that big Pennsylvania bear 🐻 . Seen they reported a 486 lb bear out of erie also . Bug ones are out their. Might have go next year i went for bear archery last year for few days.
@joejablonski3947 I used Hornady round nose Interlock 150s I reloaded in my Marlin 30AS 30-30 and Mitch had Federal 180s in his savage 99E in 308. Not sure what his bullet design was.
Awesome bear and bear camp! You guys definitely earned that bruin. What was up with its muzzle? No nose, looked swollen, and there was a wound on top of it. Any close up pictures of it?
@advicedad6552 it was a birth defect. PA game commission said damaged in fighting but it was a breathing hole on the bridge of his nose....it was not a bullet wound. He had no nose pad for lack of better term.. It was very odd looking.
@@bkauffman0390 i used to be...im in southwestern penna i have not seen one in years...i dont think west va has many left either..its very very sad.....thx
@benjaminprout566 mitch had a 1924 in 303 Savagec with an octagon barrel that was his great paps. He carried that saturday. This summer he found 2 99s at a gun shop one in 300 savage and the other in 308. He couldn't decide which to buy so he bought them both. He carried the 300 on Sunday and the 308 monday. I encouraged him to stick to opens as I enjoy hunting that way. He said it was awesome to throw that bead on it at only 10 yards!!!! Open sighted lever guns killed that bear!
Great bear, congrats to both of you on laying him down! Was the weight shown live weight, or had he been gutted? Either way, that's a bruiser!! Edited to add: Nevermind, just saw you had the live weight on the thumbnail 😅
@@bkauffman0390 agree to an extent. Bear harvest totals are getting lower every. WCO expressed his opinion that pregnant females are being taken in the earlier seasons and not making it to hibernation.

@lizmiller571 4C Nesquehoning there is a co gen plant it's called the broad mnt. You can drive up next to the co gen make sure you take a 4wd. Top of mnt is loaded with black bear.
@dorsonhess4805 if I would happen to come up would you want to go with me. My name is Bruce sorry lost phone and now have to use wife's profiles until I get all my profiles back
@lizmiller571 sorry I can't. I'm in Florida at the present time. By the time I come back home the late season would be over. If you have onx you could see the roads up there. A large truck or suv could drive up there no problem just be careful in the puddles zone are deep. The hill going up is alittle rough but once your at the top it's smooth sailing. And it a very large piece of property.
Way to go men! What a great hunt, and a beautiful bruin. Biggest hunting tent camp I ever saw! 👊🏻

We’re seeing smaller buck and less doe. Game commission uses CWD to sell more tags and kill off too many deer
So Possum Lodge it it is! hahah! What a great weekend boys
For this year anyhow!
