    Thanks Rob, really appreciate this one!!! I got a 175 kit with the same exhaust and carb, but way different jets. Not running that well, I should really get it on a dyno. Interessted to hear how you guys come along on the jetting, once its on the road.

    Cheers Rob - really useful. I was getting some spluttering when accelerating and you commented about the needle on the PHBL being a bit small, so I put the clip on the top groove and it’s accelerating very smoothly (SX200). Amazing how such a small adjustment can make such a big difference. 👍🏻

    Nice to see there's a method inya madness & tbh a good idea with airfilter rod & nut. I'll be interested in running results using this carb. Cheers Rob 👍🏼

    does anyone happen to know if the main jets are 5mm or 6mm? I've got a dellorto jet kit from my scooter and wondering whether they'd be interchangable on this carb (different bike). Thanks in advance :)
    [edit] nevermind, jsut found it, M6 (6mm) apparently..

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, m6. I have a small bunch of m5 wrongly bought 🤣 the smaller carbs are m5 so that's why they are listed as main jet. 🙄

    Always wondered about the drain tube on the air hose. I get that it is there to drain fuel from a flooded carb, but doesn't it risk sucking road grit up the tube into the engine?

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  4 роки тому +1

      Not really an issue. My engine has a breather that is basically a tube. No need over thinking these things.

    Scooter center do a dedicated head cowling for the rt kit and the armadillo air hoses have a drain on them .

    Hi Rob been waiting for this one good tip about the wing nut very clever check out the jetting on MB website for this carb it says with air box and filter main getting92 90. 88 with remote98. 95. 92 no filter 105. 102 100 I’ve gone for the remote option and it’s flying 👍👍

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  4 роки тому

      That info is slightly outdated. With the bgm filter and the elbow removed in the filter box it's supposed to be about the same as with a remote filter but we will soon find out.

    Rob, have you ever fitted an extra throttle return spring on the throttle control rod? My dellorto will not return to tick over position without my assistance?

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  11 місяців тому +1

      I've never needed to fit one. Your throttle rod is probably rubbing on you cables in the headset or the twist grip tube needs cleaning or re lubrication.

    HI Rob Sorry another question. Did you use a special inlet manifold? The reason I am asking is that I fitted a BGM RT 195 Kit. The inlet manifold I am using with the carb means the throttle cable foul's with the toolbox as it seats to high on the manifold. In your vid it sits, I would say in the correct position. I think I may need the BGM Inlet manifold for the kit, but do not wish to buy it is it does not make a difference. Any thoughts. Cheers. Excellent vid by the way.

    Hi Rob would you use the same carb and set up with the air box on a 225 RT kit as I would like to keep the original look on my SX 200 and to keep the noise level down thanks 👍

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  11 місяців тому +1

      It is really restrictive through the air box. The chap with the blue TV has fit a bgm clubman sport and a open 30mm phbh and it's much quicker without being obtrusive. If you look on my story on Instagram you will hear what a open carb, bgm clubman and rt sound like. It's actually quite pleasing to the ear.

    I have a 25 mil carb on my 186 kit and has been running great for the last 3 years. All of sudden running crappy won't stay idling. Took carb apart and noticed one of the floats is full of fuel. If you ask me there shouldn't be fuel in there but what do I know. Can anyone answer??? Thanks

  • @iancarrington9033

    The air hose being at such an angle is going to cause future problems I suspect.
    I am glad I didn't use an air box on my rebuild. I have a ram air filter on mine, it looks good if not original but having the hose at an acute angle doesn't look original either. Its all about compromise sometimes, originality against usability.
    Looking forward to seeing the TV fired up and on the road.

    Hey Rob, I'm doing a jet 200 at the moment and I'm thinking of fitting a PHBL carb, is there any real reason to change any of the jets etc from how they come out of the box? it's a standard 200cc inlet manifold, wonder if you can advise , cheers Ken

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  Рік тому +1

      Hi Ken. You definitely need to jet to suit your scooter. We don't actually know which machine these are jetted for in the first place. If you are worried about doing it yourself then any reputable scooter dealer can fit the correct jets before sending it out. Mb, chiselspeed and many others.

    Hi Rob how did this run with the D26 needle, I have just used the RT kit same set up with D22 needle runs really well, slight stutter1/4 to 1/2 throttle, it’s hard to determine whether it’s rich or weak at the present, maybe a slighter reacher needle taper may just iron this out. Thanx

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  3 роки тому

      It actually runs fine but the climate here in Norway dictates slightly rich settings. I would suspect stutter being rich if the engine is airtight.

    • @paulwatson2961
      @paulwatson2961 3 роки тому

      @@kickbackgarage thanx for the reply yes airtight, when I say stutter it’s like one misfire then ok again, does it consistently at this position, maybe rich but the D22 is a weaker needle than than the 26, thanx for your reply , interesting videos.

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  3 роки тому

      I think the safest way to determine if it's running rich maybe actually to try it a couple of steps richer. If it gets worse, then you know which way to go without running the risk of trying it too weak.
