Freezing Rain & Heavy Snow cause slick roads in Saint Cloud, MN - 12/31/2018

A quick but powerful winter weather system moved into central Minnesota and started out as freezing rain then transitioned into heavy snow in the Saint Cloud, MN metro area during the overnight hours.
Footage of MNDot crews hitting the roads hard to clear them before the morning rush, people driving around in the snow and a couple of cars spun out and crashed because of the slippery road conditions.

This storm is supposed to hit us in Michigan today. It's supposed to start as freezing rain, then turn to 3-5 inches of snow.

Driving on Summer tire, and not propper winter tire’s, and lack of experiance for sure... just go 5 mi slowe and you be fine, and dont use the cell phone when driving.

@@thomasn3766 Well I mostly drive +10 km/h and use phone while driving. On winter time we need to have _proper_ nordic winter tyre (with or without studds), not those crappy all year round or m+s "winter tyres" . Tyre like Nokia Hakkapelitta 9 or R3 or so on
