    Richard knew exactly what he was doing and there was no ill intent behind it. He didnt catch himself because to me, he never intended on slapping her on the butt. He gave it some umph because if it were a dude he would have followed thru with the old typical teammate butt slap. But because she is a women, he knew that will never ever fly anddddd his character history (assuming he is a solid dude) doesn’t support that kind of careless behavior. On the other hand, Malika’s reaction didnt help the optics at all! Maybe that speaks more to her character than Richards…but thats just my opinion ✌🏾

    You're 100% right with that Joy Taylor example. Rightly or wrongly, once someone brings the conversation to a particularly subjective and emotional place, you look like the jerk for trying to gaslight them because the subject is no longer abstract/theortical/academic it's personal. Best to back away and try again some other time. It cuts both ways too because it is easy to discount certain things as a man because you've never been a woman and so you get a "I never considered that" as well lol

    • @gregorylagrange
      @gregorylagrange Рік тому +3

      But it still needs to be pointed out that somebody is making a personal, emotional response. Because what that person won't do is acknowledge that they are leveraging their emotions under the guise of objectivity or being factual.
      The fear of being painted as the bad guy is a thing that women aren't aware of. And I'll go ahead and throw joy taylor into that category in the context of that particular show.
      Women uniquely try to win arguments by using the most extreme examples if they don't have anything to win an argument by objectively. You can have 99 consistent examples to support your side, but women will argue that one case that's different with "well what about all the times that this happens?" And then leverage the personal to try to get the 99 completely ignored.
      That's not on accident.

    Hey Marcellus I think that this needs to be a national discussion. I like how you use the word awkwardness. I think it's awkward having women at front and center facilitating discussions of men's sports. We are seeing it everywhere. I mean, other than eye candy, I'm not getting any other nutritional value from their point of view from a majority of them. And, if these women want to give me any static, I'll just proposed having transgender athletes on their discussion panels. See how they feel about that.

    Horrible example. First of all NOBODY was saved until AFTER the cross. Jesus said you need to be born again to enter Heaven so Judas was NEVER a brand new creation. None of them were at that point. Jesus also said that He had chosen the 12 but ONE of them was a DEVIL. When the deciples were asking Jesus who was going to portray Him of the ones who asked they said LORD is it I? But Judas didn't call him LORD. He called Him RABBI meaning he never looked at Jesus as LORD but a TEACHER. Being saved isn't a natural event. It is a spiritual one.

Neither side should censor themselves for the other. Love you on this though where you aren’t pigeonholed into talking about preset narratives and can be real on topics.

    I don't care what anybody says, Mr MW is just on point and knows how to speak in a way that makes people want to listen. He's intelligent and can slick it up or dress it down all day long. Please, please come back and do some segments on First Take. It's turning into attack the characters of pro athletes and go as deeply into the ditch as possible. Tristan Thompson did a great job debating Perk and the next thing Tristan's being shut down by getting RJ's mic on! Your show is informative and entertaining at the same time. Man you've even got great graphics!
