Hey, since the two of you create videos about consulting can you please also share a video about marketing consulting. That would be so helpful thank you!
Another role that consultancy fills that she didn't mention at 29:00 mark is that C suite hire consultants to say the things the C suite wants to hear as a way to give it legitimacy before employees, shareholders etc, or to have someone to shift blame to in case it's an unpopular decision - the good ol "I didn't wanna do this, but the consultants strongly recommend...."
I just applied for BCG’s Bridge To Consulting event. Only reason I’m considering consulting is because you brought it up, Ben. I have no idea how you manage to pump out all this high quality content.
This is super informative and so candid. Thank you for making this and hat off Sarah for being so candid and honest. More power to both of you and thank you so much once again. 🔥
Ben! If you think that showing your subscribers a different view on breaking into BCG as a lateral rather than straight out of undergrad, would be happy to contribute to your channel.
Hi John, I have been trying to get into consultancy, I am currently in VMware working as a Sr. Finance Analyst. So it would be a lateral shift for me too. Would be grateful to you to let me pick your brain, please let me know!! thank you
I work at BCG as a GRC Corporate Consultant, and luckily they let me work remotely. I can say BCG is a good company, with decent benefits, and salary. I didn't have a hard time getting hired, however I was a Temp employee and then went fulltime. I have heard that going through a temp agency is much easier to get your foot in the door, than trying a direct hire.
I found this was really helpful and informative. Great video and very well put together....you asked the right questions and addressed a lot of my concerns about getting into consulting. Now, I just have to put in the work because I'm not coming from an Ivy league school with first class grades.
Thanks for this interview. It was informative and helpful. I have relevant experience in healthcare and have a non-business master degree. Interested in becoming a consultant but my age and education may not make it.
Viewer from New Zealand here! Stumbled across your channel and have really enjoyed these sorts of videos, providing a lot of insight and real-world stories of being in the field of 'x'. I've just started (kinda) in my consulting journey, working in Biotech and while joining MBB is far from a reality (for now), it's nice to know there is hope for those which did not study in particular subject areas directly relevant for consulting.
If she got her degree in Micro bio how did she get her knowledge in finance models ect. Is there an apprenticeship in business and marketing to gain that info?
This is cool Rareliquid I hope you keep making videos about the hierarchy positions available for individuals pursuing business degrees you do great job explaining in depth. Keep up the great work 😇
sarah is pretty n obviously has the brains matching u haa, suits u hahaa.. p.s. studies i had degree first in biomedical science, then law, mba, banking compliance n aml for years now.
Great video. Ex-BCG consultant here, and could related to many points you've shared in the video. Very informative. Keep up the good work. I an a fellow content creator as well, and created a video sharing my thoughts on what it takes to Get into Management Consulting. Open to collaborate as well for any common future topics in this theme. Keep up the good work!
As someone who is about to graduate college, would you recommend trying to land an internship with these type of companies first or pursuing an entry level position first?
If it's so difficult to get job in BCG how difficult it will for someone to get job offer from all 3 MBB's, in USA after MBA from USA. I understand acceptance level is below 1% in MBB's in USA.
How can anyone with zero business experience ie they've never started a business themselves give advice? From what experience base are they calling on?
Love this! This is going to be helpful for so many people!
thanks so much kchoi!
Hey, since the two of you create videos about consulting can you please also share a video about marketing consulting. That would be so helpful thank you!
It was definitely helpful. Especially, the last point that how you became more self-confident due to BCG.
Thank You Both.

Hi! Could you please explain how did you first started as a temp employee? How did you manage to go to BCG through a temp agency?
And finally it is here

Insightful 📈
Great interview! Really insightful and interesting path.
Everything is secondary, the only thing which I realized is you need to get into top B schools to get into consulting
First step to going at any top tier consulting or investment bank, graduate from ivy league school. Then its just preparation.
Can you do a video on excel and ppt shortcuts and tips for IB?
If she got her degree in Micro bio how did she get her knowledge in finance models ect. Is there an apprenticeship in business and marketing to gain that info?
Case study sessions within student orgs that prepare together
This is cool Rareliquid I hope you keep making videos about the hierarchy positions available for individuals pursuing business degrees you do great job explaining in depth. Keep up the great work 😇
More to come!

Super useful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

How can anyone with zero business experience ie they've never started a business themselves give advice? From what experience base are they calling on?
