Haha nice to see that you also own a pocketsprite. I saw the original tinypi and hesitated to pick it up, but with this version I might just have to since it is so much better!
Love the video! Thank you so much for the heads up on this sweet device. I just backed for the Oreo version and I ordered your fantastic key-chain sleeve. THANKS AGAIN!
They're that much! :O Ahh, okay :) thank you! I watched the video and checked the kickstarter but I was very confused on all this and this would be a first for me in purchasing these things so I was quite lost. Thank you once again c:
Economy of scale. :) it may be on Kickstarter but it is still a small, community-driven project. If Sony were making this you can bet they’d be able to strike better deals for huge quantities of the parts. As it stands though I am more than happy to support small community projects like this!
@@wermy Understandably so :) That makes a lot of sense! I was just wondering at the price why there wasn't included a Raspberry Pi and I wasn't sure on the cost of everything and was curious about how the price tag was set cause I am new to all of this but that makes sense between what you wrote and what Jeremy wrote and I really appreciate it :D
LightningGmr one more thing to add: the raspberry pi foundation puts purchase quantity limits on them so you can’t buy truckloads for projects like this, so there’s literally no way to include it. :)
My biggest issue is price since I'm quite poor. I also prefer just playing my games on my tv set now. With all the costs of making things portable, I usually just prefer a set top solution (well, you can't put it on top of flat screens). I don't have to buy batteries or a crumby little screen either.
Aw man, a Raspberry Pi Zero is now worth over $100! It was $9 back then!!! I don't think they even make them any more. Why did SO MANY PEOPLE make projects with something that was SO EASILY rendered extinct?!
Can you make your mintypi this easy to make? I dont own a saunter and have none of the capabilities to make one. While the tiny pro should be appealing to me I dont think it's right for me.
Plz answer my comment i want this for Christmas and i need to know does the raspberrypi zero come with the kit or is it sold separately and if its sold separately where can i buy one
well, it may be physically possible to play on this, but i'm not sure how much enjoyment i will have. my eyes will drop dead from my eyepockets, my hands will get stiff... although the battery life my not allow this. don't get me wrong, this is a great project, and a great thing to have if you are enthusiast, but if you are searching for something, one thing, to play retro on the go, something similar to the form factor of a gb would be far better.
After getting the pocket sprite even if this is a bit more playable its still not comfortable. Nice maybe if you want to build something but also kind of irrelevant given the price of devices like the PocketGO or LDK Game which have better performance, still pocketable but proper size and a fraction of the cost. Although I will probably support the FunKey when it drops as the clamshell design is just super practical, quite unique and better shape and size than anything built on pi zero.
The HDMI port *should* work but may require some software tweaks, I'm not sure. Battery life is 1-1.5 hours depending on what kind of game you're playing and whether you have wifi/bluetooth turned on. Not bad for a keychain-sized system. :) It charges very quickly, too.
Does the white version can be painted with spray ink? I'm not really into painting so I don't about the materials that look great with it, is this a good one?

I wonder why they make tiny machines with a vertical build like a gameboy instead of a horizontal build like the gameboy micro. Would absolutely love a horizontal TinyPi Pro
Those spring loaded connector things are genius!

I really enjoy watching all the community projects you showcase Wermy! And nice work Mr. Tinypi!
The Genius behind this idea is a Huge Man. Love the idea.
The audio is so much better on this video than on other videos!
THANKS UA-cam RECOMMENDATIONS! Finally I find something like this that I might enjoy building
I was on the fence about this but I think I might get one now. But I was gonna get some minty pi kits too, wow I’m gonna be broke
Tiny, and connects to the TV. Impressive.
To be honest the reason I want to get this is because when i,m at school I can just play a quick little game and then go back to work
Eric Cabral oof
Why bother with that last bit?
That build process is beautiful

Instantly bought one
How?
I was hoping you would make a key chain case for it. Thank you!
the way this is put together, i hope he plans on a regular gameboy/ psp size. I would buy it in a heart beat.
very nice, instant backed, looking forward to get it!
Nylon printing for the case peaked my curiosity. Might just buy one
Who is that bastard who disliked the video!?!
pass me the pitchfork
There are now 14 as of my post. @Unlisted User is probably right on this.
Some dickhead who's dad went to buy cigarettes to the gas station
fetch me my pitchfork and blow torch...
the light tube genius....
I love everything about this. This is perfect.
Hey walcom!
why u here?
I want that in my birthday in December 21
Minty pi v3 video can't wait
So what makes the kit worth 80 bucks? You still need the Raspberry Pi itself and an SD card right? Its not 80 bucks for the whole thing?
Motherboard and screen eat up most of thatboricr

Hey wermy do you think you will offer kits to do the mintypi or a kickstart like the tinypi? Looking forward to v3!
Where do I go to buy this please?
I NEED ONE!!!!!
i believe the websight is called tindie :)
I just learned about this. How can I pre order one now that the Kickstarter has ended?? Please advise.
The buttons should have these accessories for ppl with bigger hands to make it easier to press the buttons
You should do a version of the minty pi with the springs
Can I buy all the parts to a minty Pi
Aw man, a Raspberry Pi Zero is now worth over $100! It was $9 back then!!! I don't think they even make them any more. Why did SO MANY PEOPLE make projects with something that was SO EASILY rendered extinct?!
Cool, but why not a horizontal layout like the original GBA? Seems more confortable
So now that the kickstarter's funding period is over, how would we buy it?
Maybe ill be able to actually make this since I messed up my mintypie.
1 hour battery life just isnt enough. 2 hours would be the absolute bare minimum for me.
looks great! so many things I want, so little time/money lol
That’s so cool!
Hey! What about the USB C “powerboost” when is it finished make a video about it pls!!
What usb c powerboost?
If only i could afford that

$116 canadian peso plus $30 for the pi zero W. Plus crazy shipping to Canada. Outch my wallet can't take much more of this.
does the retropie image need special configuration for the screen and button inputs?
its pre-configured out of the box, you just need to add roms :)
how do you put games on the sd card
What is the screen size?
There's no extra button like on the previous version. Is it easy to save/load/make changes to the emulator settings, etc.?
can it come with games
Now that the kickstarter is over, where can I order a kit?
You can order it on tindie.com, just search for tinyPi Pro :)
Price? Battery life? Max sd size?
were i can buy that for the love of god
Woow excellent 👍
I want to get it but I do not know how to install retropi on the sd card.
you can use the methods here
retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/
but you just use the image file that is customised for the TinyPi
can it tell time also were can i buy it when it comes out
How long is the battery life? Also does the hdmi port have any functionality ?
I believe I read somewhere battery life is around an hour of constant play time.

Can you use a powerbabk and play while charging and if it could plug on a TV and use a blutooth controller would be amazing
I'd like to see a tic tac pi
What was the game at about 1:08-1:10? It was showing a map.
Metroid Fusion - GBA (found by googling the text on screen)
Well merry Christmas to me
But can it run doom
Tiny pi is tiny and pro 😉
this is way too small to be enjoyable to use. but it's still kinda cool.
Do you really carry this around as a keychain?
That seems like a bad idea.
Yep, I carry it in a protective sleeve. It’s a little bulky as keychains go but I love it. :)
i like this
I want it!!
Awesome
You could call it the tinypi advanced

It should take paint quite well. The surface has a slight texture to it which should help with the sticking

Metroid Fusion for the Game Boy Advance
