i remember walks with my dog smallies listening to this 😭💔 my brother died when i was 4, he was 6. dad died at 21. he was 54. they all died with tremendous pain and suffering. god rest them if there is a god 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This was my dad's favourite record.. His name was Bill.. I remember listening to the original as a child on a 45..Hey it doesn't sound worse I the days of digital media. RIP Bill
I've been to five funerals of friends in the last month, I'm at the age where I'll be attending a lot of them. This song reminds me of fun times years ago.
you don't realise when you are young just how different life is when you start getting older. we all take life for granted - and our good health. sounds odd, but it is the 'all the birds are singing in the sky' that I will miss the most out of life when it is my turn. nature is beautiful and humanity is destroying it. glad I won't be here in 50 years to see how it will be then.
Wow!! I've kinda always known a little bit of the chorus of this song but this is my FIRST ever time of listening to this song properly and having the lyrics. I'm nearly 42!!! It's a very touching song - I just have YT playing a mix they've made based on songs I've listened to. Really glad I've come across this song properly.
This song was one of my mams favourite songs i remember singing with her as a little girl. So when she died in 1999 we played this song at her funeral very emotional for me. But good childhood memories singing with her.
We played this as well as Supertramp, Led Zeppelin, more. He passed March, 12 1980. He was a few months away from his 18th birthday. Too this day I go to the beach, and get drift wood, and sea shells, I bring it to him, and listen to his music chatting with him.......he loved the Ocean love being in his canoe. He had his best friend with him, they loved the Ocean, but I tell myself the Ocean loved them more..... Boundary Bay, Canada B.C on the beautiful coast....,.We have the best of both worlds, snowboarding in the winter, summer the Beaches.....
I was 7 when this came out! I lost my best friend at 10 to cancer! enough said! I'm now 57 and this song still makes me cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song always reminds me of Cyprus in 1974 my late Father was a Royal Engineers Major rdt then serving as a Blue Beret with the United Nations until the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
This is a song that takes your emotions on a ride every direction. I wish I knew what the artist was thinking or going through at the time it was written. Maybe then I could understand it better. It is Labor Day in America, 2024.🇺🇸
Terry Jacks, signed by Polydor in Montreal, I believe? Edit. I just checked: Signed by London Canada (1967 Inc.) When Decca went defunct (due to its own success - it had no system in place for automated royalty payments) it was acquired by Phonogram. When PHILIPS and SIEMENS partnered up to form PolyGram, the invented name had two meanings: One "many record companies." Two, Poly (Polydor -SIEMENS) and Gram (Phonogram - PHILIPS).
This was actually in the UK charts when I was 10. It’s an adaptation of a song by Jacques Brel entitled ‘les Moribond’ (or something like that) Invokes brilliant memories of spring 1974 for me.
It was a cheating wife and his best friend and although he was dying of a broken heart he forgave them both equally. He still loved her till the end and assured her that he had no regrets. www.songfacts.com/facts/terry-jacks/seasons-in-the-sun
