I am an artist myself and honestly, you are my role model when it comes to art!! Whenever I see your paintings, I become inspired and draw or paint landscape scenes of flowers our closer up images of plants. Thank you for sharing your art to the world! :-) you are such an inspiration in my life!
Hobo artist buddy is James Gurney of Dinotopia, they were roommates in college. Kinkade was an excellent plein air artist, the book The Artist in Nature - Thomas Kinkade and the Plein Air Tradition by M. Stephen Doherty and Thomas Kinkade is about his experience in the field. Gurney and Kinkade also wrote a book together during their Hobo Artist days on plein air painting, but this is out of print. They also both created the background cells for Fire and Ice animation, when they were both in their 20's , which you can see on UA-cam along with Frank Frazetta's figures.
He likely felt overwhelmed with pressure to live like a boy scout. Only a rare few can live a fully G rated life. Trying to live that way being a "good Christian" 24/7 can drive you mad.
Wow it's sad he lost touch with his own words... Made some bad choices near the end. "Slow down and enjoy the moment" yes he got into drinking and drugs and had a girlfriend less than a year after separating from his wife, not even fully divorcing her which is not exactly the Christian thing to do. I think he lost touch with who he was or wanted to be... Foundation of family. Ya right.
Clearly things fell apart and he couldn't handle it. He likely felt overwhelmed with pressure to live like a boy scout. Only a rare few can live a fully G rated life. Trying to live that way being a "good Christian" 24/7 can drive you mad.
Everytime I see a Thomas Kincade painting, I immediately feel the need to stare at a black-and-white painting for a half hour, lest it damages my eyesight.
At last, the true story: All but forgotten evangelical painter Thomas Kinkade once was revered among Christians as the 'Painter of Light,' known for his sentimental scenes of country gardens and pastoral landscapes that led to a commercial empire worth $100 million a year. His life was much less pious, and far-less glamorous. Estranged from his wife, he was found dead in his bed with his much younger mistress. Published reports about the years leading up to the troubled artist's death paint a much different picture than the pseudo heavenly landscapes that earned Kinkade millions - it includes drugs, alcohol, 'territorial urination', misogyny and sexual harassment. Praise be.
I couldn't of said it better, kincade was nothing but a fraud in art and his fake christian image was only to make money off his fan base that he was a hypocrite to
@@helencoe7839 He likely felt overwhelmed with pressure to live like a boy scout. Trying to live that way, being a "good Christian" 24/7 can drive you mad. His fault was trying to please judgmental hypocrites with no compassion like you and Richard Webb.
Kinkade's "Art" is just about as bad as mine; but quality and technical expertise are not what is at question here. What is still an open question is if it is just plain "OK" to take people of faith down the proverbial road which ultimately ends with fraud and disillusionment. Like myself; our guess is that Kinkad knew he was a hustler all the time and he conveniently offed himself when the Devil cam to collect his due. That valium-alcohol addiction is one of the worst on earth. Maybe he can drink and drug in the Pat Robertson version of heaven.
Kincade was a painting by numbers artist not a real artist. But a con artist. Just fraud art but there's always the right wing phony Christian's to take advantage of for the con artist
Get real. Most people can't draw a circle. Kinkade likely felt overwhelmed with pressure to live like a boy scout. Trying to live that way, being a "good Christian" 24/7 can drive you mad. Why would anybody think he was gay? He had a wife and kids, and he NEVER did ANYTHING to suggest he would be gay! He was always spreading Christian values. Just because somebody is àn artist doesn't mean they're gay. Sheesh!
Yes did not live like he preached and at the end we are all humans. Just like when people protest against police violence with violence or others against global warming but fly on different contaminating carbon footprint jets, like I said we are all not perfect.

@ΑγαΡy He also had a girlfriend in his final days. I wondered if he was gay too because something about those paintings hints at the feminine.
