What a fun documentary. I have 1500 hours and an instrument rating (single engine).. I took a young man for an aerobatic ride a few years ago and he immediately knew what he wanted to do. He is now a first officer for Southwest Airlines in the USA...:)
Sounds exactly like my story, only I've know I've wanted to fly for SWA since I was 10. A very nice guy took my in his Van's RV-6 3 days ago and it kind of inspired me to really focus on the route to a pilot. If I get accepted (lottery/waitlist system), I'm starting flight school in August.
Just here on my bed grinning like a kid. Living vicariously through Jonathan. At his age, I was still in uni. Now I’ve been able to break into the aviation industry. Hopefully I’ll save up in a few years -don’t know how- , start my flight training and eventually achieve my ultimate dream. Lol just putting this out to the universe like I see in Hollywood movies.
We can do this! I'm trying to do the same, currently a FA, Imma increase the already high number of female pilots from my country ✨ All the best to you & your dreams! We'll make it!
I am very happy for Ryan. I am an aspiring Airline Pilot myself and I plan to go into being a cabin crew after I graduate next year for a year or two to save money and then go for my journey to become an airline pilot. I know I should not compare my journey to his, but his would be the idea while I am taking the longer route. But very happy for him 😊
turbulence poses absolutely no risk to the aircraft whatsoever. The worst that could happen is you hit your head on something so just wear your belt and you'll be fine.
I have always dreamed flying , i finally at 49 years old went for my PPL Private Pilots License. I will go for my CPL eventually, before im 55 im hoping i have 500HRs or more. Always been my dream
In Europe 19 year old and becoming A320, 737, 747 or 757/767 First officer right away, directly after flight school ? Absolutely no problem at all. When the airline has any openings. On my last flight the First officer was 20 and the captain was 28 years old. So why not ?
Nope he isn't to young. At least not in Europe 😂 As long as he is at the legal age for driving and he passes all check rides why not ? In Europe that's more or less the norm. 19 year old First officer together with a 25 year old captain is something that is nothing out of the ordinary. On my last flight the F/O was 20 and the captain was 28, and I wasn't concerned in the slightest. I know that our authorities keep a close eye that everything is working as designed, so why should anyone be worried ?
@AlbertMarius-th6hk me riding first times motorcycle than a year later has a huge difference. Self-confidence with perfect knowledge, I think everything is possible.
EasyJet pilots have terrible contracts, the schedules are killing and the pilots are being pushed to land on location, no matter what the circumstances are.
It's veryfrightening this cheerful country outing atmosphere with the background of cheerful music and this constant fixed idea of people wanting to make jokes...spooky😏and the proof pilots seems to be very tired
You guys know why it’s required to have 2 people in the cockpit at all times? Cause of the Germanwings incident, when the pilot locked the doors and intentionally crashed the plane into a mountain. My instructor told me that 😮
Horrendous place for pilots to work. Overworked and underpaid. Turning the industry into a joke. They should be ashamed to work at EasyJet given the current working conditions.
We take literally anything we can get in this market. Especially in New Zealand, you have no control over your career path as a pilot. Just gotta grab any opportunity that very occasionally comes to you.
@@adalmar9889 I care and so does every other professional with self respect. These are professional airline pilots, this is a career not a hobby. It has to pay properly and have a proper work/life balance.
".. you've achieved all this at 20, and that makes me feel quite proud, actually." Give me an effing break! All you've achieved is getting your parents to spend £150k on your integrated ATPL course. If you'd worked your a.. off for 5-10 years, saving every year, or went modular while trying to make ends meet and then made it into an airline, I'd say you would have achieved something, and I congratulate you. But as it stands now, an absolute monkey could do this with the right support, but most importantly, funding. Nothing extra-ordinary.
No way i'd fly this airline-the hiring and training from grade school😀😀😀 or a grocery clerk--- nothing against them, but this is so sub-standard of the U.S. - 😮 shocking
19 year old First officer and 26 year old Captain in the A320 or 737 or even 757/767 ? Pretty normal in Europe. Because why not ? Also at Lufthansa sometimes. But since they could just hire fully trained pilots from easyJet, when those pilots want to get much much more money by flying for Lufthansa, it's has become quite rare to see such young Lufthansa pilots. And easyJet doesn't beat their customers unlike United 😂

Having 10 years of experience at 30 is insane😂
This is a fun series to watch. Takes me back to my early days of learning!
0:36 : Me in Microsoft Flight Simulator ramming the plane down with 400 feet per minute haha!
what a beautiful boy on the last plane
I hope this young First Officer tackles turbulence very smoothly because whenever I fly I am quite scared of turbulence 😮😀🙏🙏

Wait.. A stall is the pilot's worst nightmare?..Hardly! Try spins... even inverted spins.. So much fun..:)
This was very enjoyable, tha k tou for sharing.
1:12 i thought that was the stall horn 😂
Really enjoyed this video as a current student pilot! will there be more?
This show is actually released somewhere around 2017 and currently now have 2 season.

Ohhh that brings back my memories during the training!
2000 hours give you 60,000? In the US you need 1500 hours just to fly regional jets with Envoy

How much is a starting salary for pilot on easyjet
40.000 £ a year

I try to avoid budget airlines unless they have great reputations.

Are you an easyjet pilot?
Not surprised to hear that
Can you provide some facts to back up your statement? Are you an easyjet pilot?
This is unfortunately common amongst low-cost carriers in Europe, Ryanair and Wizzair is worst.

No way i got EasyJet AD in this video.
Really only 450 female captains worldwide? That seems very low
at 1600 hours in the US, youd be the most junior person in the airline. On the bright side your starting pay is like $110K
That’s why flights in the US are so stupidly expensive, additionally, through traffic control it’s much more dangerous than in Europe 😮

20 year old. Thanks but no
