Cool looking places. Let's buy a couple of dozen and some beach or river land. Paint them to fit in. Make a beautiful community. Couple of 'em for a coffee shop bar restaurant. All set! 😁
Interesting little town and capsules, Wayne, and if it ever floods there just toss out an anchor and you've got a house boat. Looks like they have enough roof space for solar to run some AC and your basics. It would be interesting to know why the project is stalled, but you know how it often is in Asia, when people have more ambition and dreams than cash.
@@WalkAboutWayne I was thinking the home should float as a boat on it's own but yea! having a little sail boat or runabout would be heaven. Something to think about for Penang or HuaHin too. I'll do some digging online and see if if there's any info about who was behind the project. Maybe it's something you could try to crowd-source and develop.
@@WalkAboutWayne Also Wayne, might they have had had trouble getting water, sewer and/or power? If so, perhaps it could be done off grid short term beach rentals and why Solar came to mind.
I think the Vessel capsules go for about $25k US or about 900k THB. Not sure how accurate this pricing is but found something on the company and Vessel Units online
Love it all Wayne. My only issue would be the flooding risk in such a low lying area with that lake. Something to be considered for sure. Nice video Wayne. Cheers buddy. 🤩
Thanks for sharing bro, there's always something very relaxing about being next to a body of water, whether it's a lake a river or the sea. Love it. Pity about the capsule homes. More as a tourist accommodation and not for locals too buy. Some nice places around there eh but can you imagine how much they would want. Stay safe man stay safe 🙏
Love the lake something genteel about Chiang Rai walk around lake coffee and food laid on. I have seen these capsules for sale on Koh Phangan and Samui. But I never priced them.
Interesting they are still there pretty much as is from your last visit there . Being Chinese owned they probably there for display & hoping a Thai business will take them onboard to sell ?? - you will have to check them again 2025 mate - a nice peaceful area ✌️✔️👍🙏
Yeah they're pretty much unchanged from the last time I looked at them, in fact the whole area is, even the Chinese housing. It could be that mate, I'll have to return again next year. Cheers Ant.
Trees would be planted all around buddy, they started but the whole project seems to have stopped for sone reason. It wouldn’t be all open like this though 👍
I remember them Wayne the lady says there 400 000 or 300 000 thai baht Wayne have you ever thought about leading land for 75 years and having a wooden house I see a 2 bedroom house 15 000 us Dollars mate they treat them for you and I could actually see you in one because there isn’t any rent after and it protects you because it’s basically in your name
Yes, that would be interesting to explore. My only addition would be to ensure you have natural shade. A friend's temporary bungalow gets insanely hot in the direct sun. Walk 20 meters to the main house, and you don't even need AC until 1 PM.
Capsules are probably more suited to accommodation resorts rather than permanent living. I do understand the concept of downsizing, though. At least there's some ground space between the units. As the population explodes into 2030s it will be a rare sight not to see more ugly high-rise buildings. The human dog boxes in Hong Kong as an example. I didn't weigh in on your Lamphun vlog. I should have. Different strokes for different folk's. Most people either want a sea change or tree change. If a town has neither, it surely needs lots of charm. I'll leave it at that, Wayne.
I would live in one, but I hear what your saying. I would much rather see these then condos. Lamphun has lot's of charm mate, I can see it getting more popular in the future. Cheers Lars.
yes right I had completely forgotten about that place, good thing we have you to visit the places again
Cheer! It's a nice place.

Sounds like a great idea mate. 👍
02:43 . Those rooms reminded me ( a bit )like the chalets in Minehead butlins 😊😊
I can't remember the chalets in Minehead 🤣

I would have a little boat outside for sure 🤣 Yes mate, I would say something has happened here. Money dried up or something.

Very pretty area and the homes looked amazing
Yes, it's a great area.
Good memories visited this place back in April from your recommendation, cool spot 😎
Nice one! It'[s a great area.
❤That says it all!

Nice! Yes, I've seen all sorts of prices for these capsules. I think Thailand do them alot cheaper also. Thanks

Cheers mate! It's a great area. Yeah sounds like its for tourists but anything could become of these. My guess is they run out of money.
Beautiful landscape my friend
It's a great area.
It could be very hot in these capsule homes, I think. I mean the sun is blazing and no trees around yet. The area looks nice though.
They are planting trees buddy, but looks like the whole project has stopped for some reason .
Nice relaxing area with a great atmosphere.
Good job showing us around.
I am sitting here in Baghdad where things are slightly different 😂
Hope you're safe and we;; over there mate. Cheers!
The food is very cheap, costing just 1 US dollar. And delicious food, too. 😮😊
That’s right 👍

Mae Jo is a great once off the main roads. I really like this part. Cheers.
Looks like Mozzie heaven there!
Probably a few around. 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne As a non Aussie or Englishman....WTF is a Mozzie 🤣
@1TechCritic420 mosquitos?
@@Vonsat Congratulations, was it the lake that gave it away? I can't believe he had to ask! 🤣
Yep@@Vonsat
Good video, In my area now!
Cheers buddy!
I'm happy you love thailand
Amazing Thailand 🇹🇭♥️
Those little houses are just fancy static caravans. Unless that's exactly what you want, there are better ones available.
Sure, you can get all types of these nowadays. One like this would do me fine though.
it's not a bad idea... but some landscaping would go a long way. One good rain and all that will be a mud pit!
I think that was the plan here, but seems like it's just been left for months. Maybe money problems.
Add monthly glass cleaner to the price for those pods.
20 Baht store 👍

how much will it cost to ship you to London? That's the way to travel.
Ship me to London? or the container? 🤣
@@WalkAboutWayne Together. Fish and chips await!
They are in the sun and no trees around. In hot season would be heavy. In tropics one need to live where the trees are.

Any luck finding your new house Wayne ?
Looked at a really nice room yesterday buddy.
great vid why not looks ok to me
Cheers buddy! Yeah they look good, wish they was available.

They sell them Capsule on ali express 16k
Nice, I seen they was on there last time. I forgot the price though. That’s not bad actually. Probably find a Thai one for cheaper
@@WalkAboutWayne cool Wayne :-) take it easy from the UK
Lovely spot wonder if they ran out of money
I would say probably ran out of money, not much changed since my last visit.
Wayne I am over from Scotland do you want to meet for a coffee
I'm a bit busy over New Year George. If you're still around in January, I'll be around. Cheers mate.

I’ll be in touch Wayne I’ll take you for breakfast or lunch

Pods are starting to look like they're sitting on the moon, not much happening. 😅
Yeah they look a bit spaced out these days 🤣
👍👍
Those capsule homes are poor value per M2 compared to a normal new ish build.
Yeah true, unless you could find one really really cheap.
Just like a static in Devon😊
