Hi niall, thank u for video if u don’t mind to do an structure model with curtain wall and to cover all the structure with curtain wall (no bearing wall just curtain wall), with all my respect

Hi how can you move one end of the curtain wall by a defined amount? i.e. if the wall is 2m long, can you grab one end and say move this 0.6 m to the right to get a 2.6m wall length?

    nice video!
i have one question, how to create the (
for example your storefront wall) with the same setup (new position of mullions, replaced panels...) several times?

I am not sure I understand your question, but I would suggest that after you create your first storefront wall the way you need it, copy it - select the new wall - Edit type - duplicate and give it a new name (such as storefront 2) and then change the properties of the duplicated type. Continue this process until you have all the wall types you require.
      Hope this helps
      Regards
      Niall

hi i have a question, how did you do the wall with recessed window? -newbie here

Hi Junjun, apolgies for my delayed response.
The wall with the recessed window follows the exact same modelling principles as the walls outlined in the Video. The only difference is that the Windows themselves are created to accomodate the recess, where they return into the internal wall liner. Hope this helps.

Thanks for video! I can't find anywhere an answer for a question: How can I edit the shape of a curtain wall system (make it higher or lower, cut its edge with a skew line or a curve, move its defining points in its plane and out of it, if possible)?

    • @8020BIM
      @8020BIM  4 роки тому

      Hi Constantin, you're most welcome.
So, you can edit the boundary of the generic curtain wall that I have shown to have a non 90degree sloped edge if you wish, but you need to ensure your infill panel families can form the new shapes that have been created. I would recommend you undertake a UA-cam search for "curtain panel pattern based" and watch the first few results - this is a way of generating non-uniform curtain walls with adaptive curtain panel families. Hope this helps you find your answer anyway!
Let me know how you get on,
      Niall

      @@8020BIM Hi Niall,
and thanks for your readiness to help! It really encouraged me to pursue my search, though not very successful one. The results of it are, as follows:
      1. I've found out, that a curtain wall, made with the 'wall' button of the 'architecture' tab, can be edited by selecting it (on the 3d model), and then clicking the 'Edit' button, which should turn up on the 'modify' tab. The edges of the wall can be cut with a straight, circle or elliptic line, but not with a spline. Besides, the cut edge will be formed with straight segments, even if it is cut with a curve.
      2. A curtain wall, made by clicking 'Massing & Site' tab >Model by Face panel >'Curtain System by Face' can't be cut at all (at least, I wasn't able to solve this task). I managed only to find a 'Reshape a Curtain Wall Panel' function on help.autodesk.com, which function allows only to edit the infill panel (to drag it or change its dimensions or orientation; to delete it - is not an option) SEVERALLY, and if the adjacent panels are displaced, then the mullion can be deleted. Very curious, is it not?)
I'm only on the beginner's level in learning Revit, and my achievements in this pursuit are not very promissing yet. The more I appreciate such a clear explanation, that you provide in your tutorials. Many thanks,
      Constantin
