    This might be my favorite bass.

    Excellent job dialing in that tone. I've seen this played before. However respectfully a lot of bassist have it set with the low to 8 or so. Which I know is a bad idea with a SPB-3 Quarter Pounder (origanically has a ton of low end punch already). To me this is the closest one can come to best precision bass short of paying 3000 (at least). I play precision bass almost exclusively so this is definitely the bass I'm saving up for. Also in all sincerity I enjoyed listening to your playing.

    Love precisions but having had a Geddy Lee Jazz for so long I wanted a slimmer neck and this is absolutely beautiful. Very tasteful road worn look also. More important, the sound is immense.

      I'm thinking of buying the Geddy Lee JB. Have you had any problems with the neck? I've heard there might be problems with it.

      I have the above Nate Mendel PBass. With strap it weighs in at...10.4lbs....a couple lbs more than my American Standard Pbass. And, a big diff when you strap it on for a 6 hr gig...ps...When I got it, from [a large music store you know] It had a weird buzz, like the ground wasn't complete. I opened it up, couldn't find any obvious connection problem. I took it to a local music store. I told the guy what I did/did not see when I opened it up. He opened it up [Jack]. He said, "You didn't see a loose ground wire, because there IS no ground wire." They shipped it with NO ground wire from the Mexican Plant, and the supposed experts at the large music store, that were supposed to do a 50 point check on it before shipping it to me? I guess they are not doing their jobs very well. Caveat Emptor when buying from the BIG music stores.

    This is a Nitro Fin better than the '71 Poly. Like a P-Bass Hot Rod! Duncans & Badass! Cool! Also any breaks in the fin will help dry out the wood and add to the warmness! Cheers!

    Bought one of these about 6 months ago and its rapidly become my go to, i have a music man and i hate to admit it but the Fender to me is just a better all round package, i love the musicman but just love this P bass a little bit better. The only things i dont like is the truss rod access but i'll slot the finger board, i also dont really get the road worn nonsence, i had a 1972 4001 Ric i sold (regretably) about 10 years ago that was 40 years old and in immaculate condition, road worn just means you have'nt looked after your bass, why cant fender do an option of road worn or not, everyone knows the road worn on a Nate Mandel is fake anyway. All that said if you are in the market for a P you will not regret this bad boy

    This is definitely the bass I'm saving up for. Guaranteed over the next couple years I'll be able to find one for less than 1300$. There are so many people who bought instruments during covid who have them collecting dust. Just watch how the prices come down. Especially if the bass isn't factory new. Good demoing and vid may I add.

    The only thing I dislike about this bass is the signature on the headstock - makes it feel like it’s not a real guitar… I can’t explain why. 😅

    • @willdelisle6969
      @willdelisle6969 3 роки тому

      Right, it kinda disrupts the whole “road-worn” thing to have a crisp/clean signature under the finish.

    Hi. Is the neck of the bass similar to the Steve Harris P-Bass or is more similar to the neck of the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass? Thanks

      It's the thinnest neck I've had on a P-bass; closer to the J.

    QUESTION: for PRECISION BASS experts. I know this necks truss rod need be adjusted from the top of the neck. Does this bass come with a special tool? If not what type Allen 🔧 would I need? One UA-cam bass channel said he had to remove the neck inorder adjust the truss. Seems absurd for such a simple adjustment. If anyone has any type of knowledge I appreciate it.

    • @54bluesbass15
      @54bluesbass15 2 роки тому +1

      Hi
      Every new fender bass I bought came with an allen wrench to adjust the truss rod. Also, you could call Fender directly and ask them.
      Rock On!

    There's a FrankenBass at a pawn shop near me with the Nate Mendel neck atop what appears to be a Highway One body with a transparent Honey Blonde finish/gold anodized pickguard, and a Badass ii bridge. He's wanting $325 + tax. The Nate Mendel neck alone is probably worth that, so I may be forced to grab it.

    is it a jazz bass neck???

    • @pattonPwr
      @pattonPwr 7 років тому +6

      To start with the neck, it seems to be somewhere in between a Precision and Jazz neck profile. Fender calls it a Slim C and that seems about right. It features a 41 mm synthetic bone nut and the neck itself has 20 medium jumbo frets. Thumbs up and ticks in the boxes so far.

    • @musenw8834
      @musenw8834 2 роки тому

      Jazz necks typically are 38.1 mm (1.5 in) while precision necks are 41.6mm (1.625 in), so this one's closer to precision than neck. Plus the FFs have been around for so long so this would be a classic P equivalent
