One thing I noticed right away is the fact you swapped out the Fender High Mass bridge the Mendel comes with. Excellent shootout. Taking into consideration the Mendel is a 1971 copy. For my ears the Nate Mendel is my favorite all day. Has a bit more clarity and punch to my ears. Just a simple preference I'm sure many others would say otherwise. Thanks again.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I preferred to change the bridge to have a greater resemblance and parity. Remember though that spb3 pickups are very powerful compared to standard pickups. Despite this, 69 hit hard
Did the same to my NM bass. Plays much better without having to shim the neck. Now its closer to my 74 A-neck Precision. 95-40 flats on it allowed the neck to relax to .010 relief, action 4.5/64 to 4/64. @@PrecisionBassFanpage Both P's sounded great, its a hard choice for me.
I’m trying to find a pickup that nails this late 60’s, early 70’s tone. Do you know the DCR spec on the stock 69 pickup so i can find something close? Thanks:)
how does the nate mindell neck compare to a jazz bass beck? all i want is a fender p bass with a jazz bass neck. it's a shame that's not currently an option anymore
You may have found something in the 5 months since this comment, but if not I really like my Special Edition Deluxe PJ. I think it was a Guitar Center exclusive. There are plenty around on the used market. I paid $650. PJ with a Jazz neck w/ block inlays, high mass bridge, noiseless pickup set (I swapped in the Geezer Butler set, but the originals sounded great … I use them in another bass). A really mean sounding bass that’s fun to play. I did sand off the glossy finish on the back of the neck and refinished with gunstock oil. The gloss was a bit sticky.

@@PrecisionBassFanpage is it a Fender bridge or? Where did you get it? Was it a 100% retrofit without drilling?
Fender vintage bridge. Same hole, no extra drill.
SPB3 + Pick are perfect match !

Chi è che ha detto che i messicani non suonano?😁
Dipende dai messicani...
@@massimomunitello4716 sarò stato fortunato visto che 3 su 3 in mio possesso suonano una 💣
Io ne ho avuti 3, due li ho messi in vendita dopo pochi giorni dall'acquisto.

Vale anche per i custom shop purtroppo🥲
