Definitely peppier than the old BBD that likely needed servicing. I'll do a road video test shortly.

I guarantee that HEI helps alot. The old Dodge ignition is trash.

Moving to the inner hole on the accel pump lever will give a larger shot of gas and should improve the stumbling problem on full throttle.

That BBD is the low top air bled design (pre 1974). MIKES CARBURETOR has a UA-cam video for adjusting the older BBDs that matches the original Carter Adjustment instructions….

Sounds good at 900 rpm. When I pick the rpm on my dodge by way of fast idle screw, mine is smooth, but when I shut it off, it wants to keep running which sucks.

Could be lots of carbon in the cylinders acting as glow plugs that wont let the engine come to a stop. Low octane gas may be a problem in older engines causing that to happen too. Does too far advanced ignition timing cause that, too?

i was thinkin of rebuilding my old one...but now i mite try one of these new carbs....any problems yet?

None...I turned in the mixture knobs slightly this fall as I thought it was getting a little fumey with the change of seasons but also could have just been having all the windows closed. MPG and responsiveness has been steady for a year.
