Will Monster Hunter Rise Still Be My Favorite In This New PC Playthrough?

- I started a new playthrough of Monster Hunter Rise, moving from the Nintendo Switch on the the PC version. Will Monster Hunter Rise continue to be my favorite during this new playthrough.

So I was looking through some monsters on the Chinese exclusive roster and noticed the look a lot like the monsters we got in rise and sunbreak...we can't see them back because of copyright issues...
I now know why frontier and explorer were discontinued...sigh I really wanted to get to fight those monsters...
So in stories if you put 3 non elemental genes in a row your monsties speed stat goes up by 1...if you have 3 power ,speed or technical genes in a row your monsties do bonus damage... I finally got the pain killer gene from Kirin...
I feel like Rise/Sunbreak will always have something that will bring us back to it. Especially if Wilds doesn't bring back most if any of the new Switch Skills Rise/Sunbreak added.
Stuff like Sacred Sheath for LS, Surge Slash Combo for GS, Insta-Block for Lance (aka Adept Lance), Dodgebolt for Bow, etc.
Not to mention Risen Elder Dragon levels of crazy fights.

FR, people like to hate on the Switch Skills, but landing Metsu Shoryugeki counter with the SnS is one of the coolest stuff in the whole saga.
Im mean Sunbreak does have the second biggest roster in the series with 78 large Monsters after GU (92 Large Monsters), a big endgame, many different playstyles for the weapons thanks to switch skills, etc
12:49 Up until Sunbreak there had been three MonHun devs: console (realistic), mobile (fantastical), and Frontier. But, the Frontier team was folded into the mainline teams after Frontier shut down servers in like early 2020, and then the console and mobile teams were also conbined during Sunbreak's development, so now there is just the singular team.
17:38 Mained Charge Blade all through World, but had to move it to secondary for Rise due to its massive phial nerfs and took up Switch Axe, only to return for Sunbreak.
Switch Axe got way better in Sunbreak
It brings a little bit of Valor Switch Axe into the moveset which made me happy
I'm doing a fresh pc playthru too after getting everything on the switch then taking a year or so break. Feels like a year anyway. I laughed a bit as a bow user because I could somehow still dodgebolt certain monsters really well because I had to farm the heck out of them on the switch. Like the Rajang beams or that tail double spin from Nargacuga. I just wish I didn't have to farm for decoration materials all over again. It was easier when more people were playing so I could just easily find a online hunt. Solo hunting and not getting what you wanted after 10 or so attempts is a tad draining. Dangit I still love this game though so I'm gonna do it anyway.
Gotta remember to compare base game to base game when Wilds releases
I think it's fair to expect some QoL implemented in Sunbreak to at least be present in base Wilds...
@@vivid8979 I know but there was a major issue with people comparing Iceborne to Rise base game. Uno prolly won't have this problem since he mentioned he played 3U was it? He'll be fine.
If I compare them, I'll probably just compare which I find more fun. Even world and rise are such different games that it's hard for me to compare them. Only how they both make me feel.
I think it's fair to also expect CRASHES and BUGS. As hyped as I am for Wilds, I can be patient and not freak out if it doesn't even run on my pc.

I returned to Iceborne to defeat Fatalis alone after years.
Personally I prefer Sunbreak textures! Well, MHI They look as if they were plastic, not to mention the freedom of playability that Sunbreak offers!
We wait for Wilds with great enthusiasm, hopefully Wilds Nous of that freedom in terms of gameplay.
Sunbreak is also my fave MH
For myself, going from 1080p/30fps to 1440p/>60fps was a game changer. So glad I made the switch as soon as the PC version became available.

I also struggle with diablos shoulder tackle... which why main charge blade... thinking of testing out the gunlance in rise also planning to use gunlance in Gu rise and world
Uno if you're still playing stories I suggest picking up fishing plesioth parts along with every monster you come across...
I feel like mhw is my first mh game than mhr, but i haven't played mh3u on wiiu, so thats world becomes my favorite game ❤

The roars have strict timing with base evasion but attacks and projectiles are a no-go. Fun game tho
Back in 2021 I found myself finding high rank harder than Master rank lmao.

About your musings on how hard Rise low rank is for newbs. I was a newb when it foirst came out and I don't usually play action type games (I play turn based RPGs and strategy games) and yes Monster Hunter Rise low rank was EXTREMELY difficult for me. It's the only game I've ever rage quit and slammed my controller over. It took a couple months to "get good." I don't think MH vets realize how hard these games really are, the combat mechanics are so complex and intricate it's like learning a musical instrument.
I've since played finished to completion MH World/Iceborne and other action RPGs like Elden Ring, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, Dragon's Dogma 1 and 2 and nothing comes close as far as difficulty than those first few weeks playing Rise, not even Iceborne or Elden ring.
It's sometimes hard for us to see monster hunter through a fresh set of eyes or how someone new might experience it. I have the basics down but I just let me skill of memorizing movements carry me
What's funny is that different hunts are difficult for different players and for different reasons. I've been playing MH for ... 15 years? ... and there will still be things that throw me. "Git gud" isn't a taunt, it's the Way. Also just have fun. Don't meta. If you hit a wall real bad and it causes rage, just go do other stuff. Probably take a break before you get to the rage quit moment.

Really good timing, and that one point of Evade window helped a little lol. I also believe the dodge in demon mode has a little more i-frames

I don't have any want to play mods. I know some other people play them and don't really get in trouble or anything but I don't even want to chance it.

I refuse to use khezu dual blades if it's not the dual element from freedom unit

About that........I don't like the charge blade lol. Have a video where I played every weapon and tried it multiple times outside of that, even in world. Soloed Fatalis and Alatreon with it and it's just not for me.

@RobertoCarlos-it8rn It's just not for me lol. I've tried that weapon on and off for 5 plus years and I just don't feel the fun.

My main weapons was bow and lance and this do not change in rise
I beat primordial malzeno on two playthroughs and decided to give world a second try. World is way better and more in depth than rise. Reminds me of MH1 and 2. Also way more difficult because Rise was super easy compared to any other Monster Hunter game.
I'm worried Wilds might butcher some weapons like gunlance and sword and shield in favor of bs "realism", they made them so fun in sunbreak I legit cannot use them in any previous game anymore, not even GU
I'm going to assume most weapons might play like World but with some extra things. Atleast that's how they said the Hunting Horn will be.

Do I think world is a better game....yeah probably, but I enjoyed/had more fun with Rise.
How did Rise not release as a full game?
wdym? If you're talking about title updates that happened with world too, or are you talking about there not being any elder dragons at launch
Why only 60 fps? It's easy to get 120 or even 165 on potato pcs.
I just don't really care to. This is probably only the.....maybe 4th game I've ever played in 60fps. I'll play whatever as long as I find it fun, no matter the fps/graphics
