  • Hi all,
here's a little update of me trying to create a standard for the 54mm Black Watch figures I'm working on.
I've tried painting flags by hand, buying commercial flags and messing around with them, using decals to try and make the standards...etc. For software I've been using Adobe photoshop and Microsoft paint. I've kind of become obsessed but in a good way - I think.
The flags are still a work in progress.
Anyway here it is, hope you like it.

Thanks for your comment and questions Scott. I've used the flags from books- photographed and then edited in the free Paint program that comes with Windows. Or also use photoshop. Also sometimes just get flags off the Internet. Also went to the National army museum in London, they have lots of flags and other stuff. Also the Guards museum in London also has lots of flags/standards.
I make the videos with DaVinci resolve. There's a free version and a pay for version. You can also use Resolve to edit photographs.
      Hope that helps.

@user-qu9kh1md8b I don't think there's a single book. There's books on military history and there's books on modeling. Sometimes they overlap. The osprey series of books is generally very good.
Have a search on Amazon and look for whatever has the highest rating from buyers. It's what I usually do. Maybe some other viewers have suggestions?
Sorry to hear about the PTSD. That's a tough one. Hope you get through it OK.
