- Parts of East Yorkshire lose metres of coastline every year as coastal erosion becomes a constant battle to stop.
Entire villages in our region could fall into the sea if we do not act now to stop climate change.
In some areas of the Holderness coast a staggering four metres of land is being lost each year.
Take a trip along the coast at Skipsea, Aldbrough and Ulrome and you will be able to witness the desolation first-hand.
There are now roads that lead to nowhere which is leaving houses teetering on the brink.

Great video Mickey, yep that coast is crumbling fast. I remember going down to Cowden Ranges when I was in the RAF, they’d already lost one control tower over the edge. There’s some properties along that coast and it always makes me wonder how they sleep at night.
Hoping to do a video of Mapleton and Cowden soon. Because of the erosion, unexploded ordnance sometimes get exposed and they have to bring in the experts in to make them safe. Great comment mate, I was unaware that you was in the RAF.
@@mickeytheviewmoo yeah, my last posting was Staxton Wold, we were accommodated at Driffield. Always interesting seeing Cowden ranges, they built a new control tower, a quite sophisticated set up. That was 1993 and even then we were told it was too close to the cliff edge.
