I do ocr a and these don't seem to be on the spec. Is this just AQA?

never come across this in AQA.

I am wondering when youd use the equation Ssys = delta H /T ? I do ocr b and I am confused how this links as i assumed i could use this equation to work out temperature, therefore see if the reaction could take place at that temp. Thank you so much for these vidoes!

Why does the formula for entropy of surroundings say kJmol but you convert DeltaH into Jmol?

I'm not sure if i just cant find it in my textbook, but i don't think we need to calculate the Entropy of the surroundings for OCR do we? Just wondering, Love your videos, they're are the only revision method I've found that actually works for me. Thanks!!!

Hmm not sure of the top of my head. I would imagine it could be asked as this is a basic entropy calculation

why are the units of entropy J/Kmol

  • @CaptainAashish

What if the value was +ve but still less than 55J/kmol ?

    does increasing temperature decrease entropy

No. If you increase temperature entropy will increase. This is because more energy is given to the particles so they move in a more random way. Entropy increases.
