Ms. Nina Simone was a jewel, an emerald of artistry, whose journey was filled with ups and downs. My favorite singer always. She played Bach and jazz, and she got respect. I am so happy she had family and friends who were there for her in the end who understood. Paris she loved. 🙏❤️🌍🌿🕊🎶🎵
👍 🎤 I just heard this today and I think it’s another great Nina Simone ‘classic’! It must have been a wonderful experience to have actually been in Antibes, France in the 1960’s to see her live! My very favorite song of hers is ‘To Love Somebody’, and it was done at that same concert. I’m going on 70 now but have, and always will, ❤️ ALL genres of music, and many of my favorites were from artists who, unfortunately, are no longer with us. But thanks to the technology we have now, it’s possible to still watch/listen to music like this on YT, or other sites! (IMHO it’s one of the few ‘good’ things I can say about it - the ‘bad’ being the abundance of fraud, constant soliciting, hacking, spam, YT artist ‘imposters’ asking for personal info so they can ‘keep in contact’, kids not knowing how to actually ‘play’ outdoors and instead spend their spare time on social media and texting, etc. IDK for sure which one outweighs the other - for someone my age at least, I think I prefer the ‘old’ days more! But to each his/her own!)
Ms Nina Simone was an American Icon who gave her all during the Civil Rights years and very gifted in piano and song. ,May she RIP
Forever...!
