  • Finally! US 100B$ Aircraft Carriers Are Ready For Action!
    Aircraft carriers are the largest warships in the world. They surprise by their size and firepower. After all, the deck of such a ship can accommodate several dozens of aircraft, among which may be attack aircraft, fighters, anti-submarine aircraft, helicopters, and so on. Currently, only 9 countries in the world have naval vessels carrying aviation. Most of them belong to the U.S. Navy. In this video, we'll talk about the 11 largest aircraft carriers. Why 11 and not, say, 10? Because there are 11 and each one deserves your attention!

    As I worked on both HMSQE2 and HMSPW I can tell you that the Prince of Wales has not been scraped for parts, and is infact has the role of command ship for NATO, the problem of a prop out of balance has been fixed and she be back in service very soon.

    As big as aircraft carriers are what surprises me is many cruise ships are even larger!

    • @Kelnx
      @Kelnx 8 місяців тому

      And even bigger are many cargo carriers. Besides weapons, what these carriers can do that other massive ships can't is move FAST and turn tight. US supercarriers typically have the fastest top speed in their battlegroup and are faster than most ships period. It's incredible to think about the sheer amount of energy with that much mass capable of moving that fast through the water.

    I love aircraft carriers! They are awesome. I served 3 years on the Enterprise CVAN65 during Viet Nam. Ships are limited somewhat to their service areas by their size, particularly draft. One cruise Enterprise left dock in Pearl Harbor and shortly had to shut down adrift in the bay. The reactors use sea water for cooling and the intake ports are underneath. We got too close to the bottom of the harbor and sucked up too much sand. Crewmen had to get down in the hull (don't know the details, as I never toured the lower decks of the ship) to clean out the blockage. We had tugs help us and shortly were on our way again.
    We hit a typhoon enroute to Philippines had to lock the ship down. I believe I was the only one allowed outside, with a safety harness to take weather obs. The flight deck is 85 feet above water, and it was punching through the waves. None of the other ships in our battle group could stay with us. If I would have fallen overboard there was no way I could have been rescued. Winds were well over 100 kts as pegged the limit on the WX anemometer.
    Then, for the USS Pueblo incident off North Korea, and a year later the E-2 Hawkeye incident, we froze our asses off in show and freezing water on deck.
    I'm sad to see her decommissioned and soon to be scrapped. Olympic champion Simone Biles signed some of Big E's metal for construction of the new Enterprise, I hear, scheduled for 2040? I don't think I'll still be around, but wish I was.
    Another comment was correct. The nuclear ( not "nucular" as one president put it ) reactors just replace the messy, polluting, oil fueled boilers to provide steam for the 4 turbines and MASSIVE propellers. Geez, saw those things when we were in dry dock for maintenance.

  • @danielcooper2382
    @danielcooper2382 11 місяців тому +1

    Rossi said his patented device (2015) can produce electricity for $0.01/kWh, which, for this analysis, I will assume is true. However, he did not factor in the cost of distribution, which is currently no less than $0.05/kWh and considering needed infrastructure improvements to incorporate his devices into the grid, $0.10/kWh. Since the Chinese currently deliver electricity to their businesses for $0.05/kWh, retail, and have plans to do so for the next 40 years with the same tried and true coal fired .. electricity generation plants, and Rossi sold them the rights to his device (for manufacture and distribution in China) for $100 million, any means of producing electricity that utilizes the same central distribution system (the grid) will fail (be non-competitive). If any candidate chooses to jump on board the Make America Great bandwagon, I suggest that they do so with a more realistic financial prospectus.

      Whether it's meters or feet , a hypersonic manouvering at low altitude missile or Iranian 200mph rocket torpedo don't care.
      Aircraft carriers are like stuffing your pants with socks in hopes woman won't realise you are a skinny little girl.

    One missile and your $100M aircraft carrier is sitting on the bottom of the ocean

      You think it is easy to sink the aircraft carrier? They are protected by tons of other cruisers. destroyers, and submarines.

      It would take a helluva lot more than "one" missile to sink one.
      The ship ( and ships) surrounding it, have anti missile defense systems onboard. One might get through, but the country of origin and it's ship or planes that fired it, would be obligated.

    Of course this list would be a boring if you counted the 8 Nimtz class carriers between the USS Nimitz and USS George H.W. Bush
