"Not for full time living." Ok, but manufacturers say the same thing about most 5th wheels, don't they? That cottage is exactly what people are buying for living tiny (tiny homes on wheels). I didn't catch the square footage but max of 399 sq ft qualifies as a tiny house I believe.
I get confused over the "Not a full time tiny home," I get that I couldn't travel the country in this thing like an RV. But what's stopping me from buying an acre, putting this on the acre and living in it 365 days a year?
For years rv owners have been remodeling them to look and feel residential. Finally, the makers are doing it. Thats great but cost of diy is tremendously better
This is a winner. The price and size is in tiny home territory though. Still, it is an awesome choice and the loft with the window is excellent, the separation is much better than having it open air. Very functional, very nice.
I would have guessed over $120k, but I would not have gone anywhere near as high as $250k. That said, it's quite a piece to have as a casita on an existing plot, and would be an amazing travel cabin wherever it's put.
We have these by the thousands in Az rv parks. We call them park models. Mostly winter visitors use them but we have lots of full timers. I’m in construction and we often add a full what they call Az room, with an additional bath and living area. They will also add a residential air conditioner, ground set and hook to the ducting under the home.
I want to Buy something like this to live in at an RV park full time. I cant afford a house, cant afford my apartment rent (1200 a month for a 500 square feet 1 bedroom...) What a bueatiful cozy house , bet it smells like a brand new model home in there. Fresh paint and carpet. Love that smell.
I just stayed in a "cabin" almost exactly like this in Murphy, NC it was gorgeous! Almost exact floor plan except it had a exterior door, a curved countertop and a 4.5'x 28" shower, stackable washer and dryer where the kitchen shelves were.
These are park models, towed to location and left there hence they are houses with some wheels. Nevertheless, lately they've become crazy expensive for what they really are, a pimped out shed.
You crack me up JD! Sorry, but this is definitely a tiny house, even if that’s not what they’re calling it. Go look at any tiny house built on a trailer and they’ll look like this. Some nicer, some not as nice, but this is a tiny house. Go to a tiny house builder and they’ll show you several models. Some builders only built more luxury, and others just build the shell and the buyer completes the finishes. The only difference with this one is that it’s not four season, which most are. Tiny homes are built just like a house with a wood frame.
The tallest trailer you can get and no special permits to tow around has a height of 11"3'. It's a specialty trailer you use to have a mobile automotive garage. At least in the states Special permitting is only necessary for anything that can't fit under a highway bridge. You'd have to rig brake lights and rear turn signals to the unit in transport but I wouldn't be shocked if someone with a dually came in bought one and towed her off.
There's a tiny home builder, Incredible Tiny Homes, that builds affordable tiny homes. What I notice with them is they aren't designed to go into RV parks although you could put one in a park. But they don't have holding tanks and sewer pipes. This RV might be called that but who is going to tow this on a regular basis?
They don't want to say full time living for warranty reasons. Plus if it's made for full time, probably brings up legal upgrades. Just park on piece of land with sewage and power. Prob good to go as long as bylaws allow it.
This would be awesome if it were an RV. It’s a nice, small mobile home with some RV-style lofts. It was given a “10” by people who were looking at it as an RV. It would be interesting to see a comparison of it to other small park model mobile homes on a non-RV channel. Likewise, a Sprinter, Transit, or ProMaster is really impressive if one reviews it as if it were a minivan.
Tiny Hones On Wheels are a thing. Not all of them are designed for off-grid living. Likewise, not all of them are designed for frequent travel. Some are designed to only do 1-2 trips from the factory location to the destination. Canadian RVs and Tiny Homes can be wider and taller than those in the USA. Still impressive, though. Q: How is not for full time living?
A lot of tiny homes are built on trailers with wheels. This is the exact floor plan of a lot of tiny homes and a lot of RV parks will not allow these. It is probably 399 sq ft like most tiny homes like this.
Do they make full time models? Off grid for the forest, desert, or mountains. Except I would like to move the bathroom farther away from the kitchen, and use the loft as a tiny office.
it's a full time living vehicle with no stored service like water or sewer tanks. Most living situations can accomodate this. This does not work if you travel and services are not available
Looks like a really nice " park model" , why couldn't you live in it full time? I could! Nice starter home also! Price isn't bad either! Actually better then our Grand Lodge.
Hey JD loved the video ❤. I have a question Why could you not live full-time in this unit? Let's say they put it in a RV Park in Florida where I live. You could run it out year round. What is your input?
Didn’t notice in the comments but what’s the insulation ratings? Something at that price should be 4 seasons rated at least, I know insulating the undercarriage will need to done, but come on $120k nowadays is still way above 4 seasons rated destination/park models… 🤯
While this is cool. For the money just look up recreational resort cottages. Park model full time homes are a thing and they're amazing. If you like this, steer yourself towards companies that do it better.
This is definitely nice but Now that Timberwolf made the 20-Og for half this price with tanks on board this Rv has major competition The No-boundries New Rv RVS 2 & 3 Suites edition Bathrooms alone kill All high-end 5th wheel,s off and most homes I've been in
JD, please clarify something. They say this isn’t for full-time living; but yet you indicated that this could be for renting out as vacation cabins. Well depending on where this is and how often the unit was rented out for, wouldn’t that be considered full time living? Please clarify. Very cool unit.
Living in something full time means constantly being in the unit. If something is rented out as a business year round means that someone is there all the time. So regardless if it is a single owner living there, or rented out to strangers, if someone is there all the time then it’s full time.
The day park models go for $200k+ is the day they go out of business. I mean move to the Midwest and get a nice 200k older home with 1500 sq ft. I mean, who are they fooling??? Anyhow, beautiful model. They hit it outta of the ball park!
Could something like this be put in like a trailer park to live in full time? My dad lived in Santa Barbara CA before he passed away and he lived in a trailer park but the units were beautiful, you couldn’t even tell they were trailers.
I'm thinking they mean you can not "tow it around the world, daily" as far as FULL TIME LIVING. This could be parked, placed permanently on concrete, and lived in full time. At least, I would think.
I love this unit but no warraanty for full time living is lame. How do you make a tiny home that isnt a tiny home? That fact seems to be a way for the manufacturer to scoot around potential problems especially considering that many RVs are full time warrantied
Dumb that it's not full time rated, wouldn't that be a huge demographic that this is aimed at?? Makes one wonder about the quality of construction or the manufacturers intent to support it.
It's a tiny home and I would use it full-time.
Ok so you park it in an RV park and people come and stay day after day, isn’t that the same as full time living??????
Not for the people that are staying in it. Yes it might be used daily but so is a hotel room with a kitchen.
How is that full timing? There are many park models that people only use on weekends.
Yeah pretty much full time. But just not moveable on a regular basis which may be what they are meaning on full time RVing.
Exactly my thoughts.
Agreed. It’s fine for full time living. Depends upon the insulation if it’s geared for winter months.
"Not for full time living." Ok, but manufacturers say the same thing about most 5th wheels, don't they? That cottage is exactly what people are buying for living tiny (tiny homes on wheels). I didn't catch the square footage but max of 399 sq ft qualifies as a tiny house I believe.
399 sq ft keeps it in the RV category in most jurisdictions in North America.
They say that to keep people trapped into the vicious cycle of having a 50 year mortgage.
These more house-looking park models are getting really interesting!
I could live in this full time.
I truly love everything about this unit!
I get confused over the "Not a full time tiny home," I get that I couldn't travel the country in this thing like an RV. But what's stopping me from buying an acre, putting this on the acre and living in it 365 days a year?
I did. I bought 15 acres and live in mine full time.
@@McRod-1 I hope to do the same next year.

Yea, odd thing to specify when soooo many ppl live full time in every other style RV on the planet.

Yep I built one 400 Sq ft and I'm in for less than. 25 grand theu want 120k for this
Its a Park Model meant for stationary living. Some RV parks don't allow Park Models but they are not built to travel like a RV.
This is a winner. The price and size is in tiny home territory though. Still, it is an awesome choice and the loft with the window is excellent, the separation is much better than having it open air. Very functional, very nice.

Looks like a destination vacation RV. Like a park model. I suspect that it is 10 feet wide. I like the layout.
11.5 ft wide I believe
We have these by the thousands in Az rv parks.

I would 100% live in this full time
I want one. This is super cool. This would solve the issue of the cost of house and house ownership.
These generally get a mini split system once they reach their final destination
They put my mini split A/C on before it left the lot.

So I would put this one on the rv lot I own in Arizona. Boom, instant easy winter digs!
Beautiful and affordable 😊
It's called a park model.
It would be awesome if you could provide links to the dealer website in your videos.
Good value for the right purposes!
That one was way overpriced. Good value is between 80-95K on today's market.

BTBRV, Why is this not rated for full time living?

The not for full time living clause allows them to deny claims and fully warranty the cabin. We'll charge full price but not full-time.
Who manufactures this model?
❤❤❤❤
Love it! Great park model floorplan. Does anyone know what the model number is? There are several "Timber Ridge Cottages".
How wide is the interior? Would be making something like this possible while still being able to tow around?
