I just designed a industrial warehouse where I took ISMB 600 (as columns) but all columns are fail. Can anybody give idea what could be reason behind this.?
Dear sir, You are using the pressure coefficient value of Cp=-0.8 and Cp=-04 . Where do you get it from?? I have found different value from IS 875 Part 3 .
if we select the auto-selection property for the truss top and bottom member and for the column it is a better way for steel design. by useing the auto-selection property program to collect economic section for all members
I just designed a warehouse through auto beam n columns everything seems good except columns all columns have failed what could be reason behind this..?? 🤔
@@structguru2200 I'm not getting channels in rendered view? Also, the members seem to overlap rather than connected. Is that reliable? Next, I don't have steel connection design option in ETABS.
Dear could you help me that why axial force of top and bottom chord of my model are so differently (around 72% of difference), but when i assign load on top chord directly, the axial force of top and bottom chord are quite closely.
I have a question. When you imported the steel sections, the section shape was indian but the default material was A992Fy50 which is American standard material. Fy of A992FY50 would be 355 Mpa is SI unit. I have seen people changing it to Fe250. Shouldn't we do that?
I have a problem. When I draw a shell and assign null as section, and then apply shell load on it, it won't transfer the load to the beams and columns below it. How can I apply area loads avoiding the self weight of the shell element? Looking forward to get answer from you. Best regards.
Can you explain how you take windward coefficient as 0.8 and leeward coefficient as 0.5. Since as per code there is Cpe and Cpi (external and internal pressure coefficient)

Thank you! I wanted to add this video (ua-cam.com/video/fm_vG-YvUkA/v-deo.html) about moment release. but it would have increased the video length. I will cover the moment release topic in detail in upcoming video on connection design. Stay tuned!

From where you are?
Is there anyone here that does design work in the Lehigh Florida area for a small project.
Yes. please send me the details of the work on my email structguru@gmail.com
Do you do design work for home shops? I want to add a loft and lean to on my existing structure.
Need the video for joint connection please.
thank a lot we learn ,ore thing in ETAB
Brother snow loading ki pe daalna hai rafter or purlin Or what? Aur snow load calculate kaise kare Plz

Nicely explained.
Sir thanks for wonderful videos, sir kindly upload tubular section single truss roof with mangalore tile

First time viewing. I hope I'll be more knowledgeable.
Sir , In video the assign the relese to the truss member is skiiped ,
What about earthquake and wind load combination.....
hello, which design code do i need to use when i am in South Africa?
Very useful tutorial.
Thank you superb explanation
nice tutorial. Yes connections are important and I was wondering how you connect everything together. e.g. purlins over trusses.

Dear sir,
You are using the pressure coefficient value of Cp=-0.8 and Cp=-04 . Where do you get it from??
I have found different value from IS 875 Part 3 .
Its 0.8 and -0.5. This also depends on L/B ratio (L= length of the building plan and B= Width of the building plan)
@@structguru2200 Which code you are using???
IS or ACI??
This is same in both ACI as well as IS code.

Where is the question?
How about a steel truss resting on concrete beam, how we do model the connection and what R value should be used for seismic.
Thank you, so clear.
Why is wind load not assigned to columns?
Thank you!
What is the safe p-m ratio?
Should be less than 1.

How do you assign windload on 1 slope shed type roof? What is the direction of windward and leeward?

You also skipped assigning diaphragm to the roof. Can diaphragm be assigned to inclined shell element? Please make a video on that subject.

You can change it accordingly.
I think you forgot to show how the moments in the truss joints are released. Is it ok to select whole roof and assign the pin joint constraint?
I wanted to cover moment release topic in other video tutorial. Due to unavailability of time I am unable to post videos.
