Is the "Daddy Hack" Drill a Pitching Velocity Unlock?

- Introducing the "Daddy Hack" Drill. We are incredibly excited about this progression after seeing numerous guys jump in velo directly after. Finding the glute, riding the hinge & rotating into landing is foreign to a lot of pitchers, but they (almost) all can do it when they swing.
What if we backwards chained that forward move, which is fundamentally the same as pitching?🤔
Here's what pitchers implicitly do when cued to take a "daddy hack":
✅Move forward while staying back
✅Ride the center
✅Find the glute, hinge and rotate
✅Stay stacked over a stable back foot
So this is interesting, but can you really transfer it to a throw? So far, the answer seems to be a resounding "yes," with over 70% of athletes that we intervened with (guys who don't hinge) seeing quick & significant velo bumps (2-5 mph).
This seems to work as a teaching shortcut by taking a pattern that many athletes already have and helping them translate that feel on a downhill plane with a ball vs. a bat.

What unlocked my speed was a juco coach telling me to point my back pocket to the catcher, when I lift my leg.... Unfortunately this advice came way too late🤣 cuz I moved to catcher
Both back pockets or just lead leg back pocket? I did both and feel crazy tension in my drive hip\hamstring

In the swing drill I feel this one my glute but once I go in leg lift in regular throw I loose the feeling in my glute
Adding the dynamic nature of the throw needs to be progressive, adding too many variables at one time like the initial move/drift and drop into the linear move has a learning curve. Backchaining the move is essential for transferability, for example:

Slide Step
Step Back Slide Step
Step Back Full Leg Lift
Walking Wind Up
Full Delivery

i have a good swing using mostly my hips oh my god just the first minute of this video got my ghost throw?? (throwing without a ball) to sound wayyyyyyy more violent probably faster too and the motion feels more natural cause its how i swing tread never misses and if they do ive yet to see it
I throw right handed, but hit left-handed because my dominant leg is the left one. To do this drill and apply it on pitching, should I try it left handed and THEN do it right handed?
Try pretending to swing right handed and see how your body organizes
