OBX Exhaust - Volvo S70 T5

- Sound clip of the complete exhaust setup by OBX. Includes a three inch downpipe, and 2.5" for the rest of the system. Overall, fitment was not bad. The only real problems I encountered is the rear hangers aren't right. They need to be lowered on the car. A 5 minute job for an exhaust shop.
The tip sticks out too far as well. It would need to be cut after the muffler and shortened if one so desires.
The car sounds wonderful. Not annoying at all on the freeway, and has a deep growl; that signature whiteblock five cylinder sound. :)

To the guy at 0:53 - Get used to saying that a lot buddy! "Not bad for a Volvo". People so under-estimate Volvos, it's crazy, however, it does help with the "sleeper" touch.

OMG so I’ve been watching this clip off and on for like 10 years, and I just realized you had Oklahoma plates lol. I’m in Edmond, Oklahoma, and I had an S70 T5, and I chose the OBX exhaust because of this very video. Crazy.
God my miss my Volvo s70, was my first car ever and still my favourite those things are beasts!!!!

Do you still have yours? I didnt have the T5, but still the timing belt went and the cars engine just gave in :'( this was about 3 months ago too, I had to give it away because here in Australia no mechanics want to deal with European cars.

Sounds really good man. I saw this clip on VS. I'm running a 3" turboback with no muffler and it's really annoying on the highway. This setup sounds awesome, not too loud, but definitely has some growl. Nice work!

+Ownage Productions Well, it kind of is. The Viper V10 and the Volvo Inline 5 has the same firing order, so it makes sense.
+Ownage Productions I always thought the turbo-5 sounded like half a V10, but I never thought about how closely it specifically resembles the Viper!
The Viper has a V10 engineered by Lamborghini so yes a Volvo inline5 does sound like a baby Lambo

@ProjectPatuhh Yeah, I have a HKS SSQV. No problems with anything at all. Sometimes when lifting off the throttle I get a pop out of the exhaust from the rich spike. No CELs or anything though. I installed the BOV not for the sound, but due to the factory CBV diaphragm tearing under more boost.
Exhaust Sounds awesome, gotta love a 5 cylinder motor with his bov!
Actually its 3"dp and mid-pipe.Ive had the OBX on my 850 T5 for about 3 years and love it.And yea I had my buddy cut the tip off and move it back bout 6 inches.Looks so much bttr, than sticking out as far as it does the way it comes.

@xpiecemealx Yeah! It's not hard at all. You might have a helper near to help hold the parts up while installing, but it's not bad. The most time consuming part is removing the factory system.
@TheJurciks That's what the C70 T5 that replaced this car is for. It's got a manual and completely hauls ass.

Did he have a different CBV? Sounds like that high pitched squeak when he comes off throttle
Do you guys know if the gasoline sport exhausts fit a TDI s70 too? it always says like "Fits 2.0t,2.5t" etc etc but NEVER Tdi so im a bit confused about that.

sounds like you have a BOV. have you had any problems with your ECU or anything after installing it? or is your car doing good. and when you installed it did it take away any performance at all?

How did the BOV affect the AFR's? I had a forge BOV on my 98 T5M and it would cause the car to go lean between shifts. I haven't done anything with my 99 T5 though. If anything, I may do a forge diverter valve back into the intake.

Sorry but I was cracking up at the fact you put a BOV on an auto. That would drive me insane having it hiss every time you lift off the gas 😂😂😂😂😂

Irate Frogger s70s lose power for having a BOV lol... It makes the car run rich bc the computer is expected the air to be pushed back into the engine and not being vented into the atmosphere
Blowout on automatic is counter productive. Do the manual conversion at least...
What do you mean ya doofus?? It sounds totally awesome! Let me guess.. you've owned several automatic cars with blow off valves on them so you know exactly what your talking about. Why does everyone have to be so critical of othrt people showing off their awesome cars? If you don't have any experience with this particular topic then maybe you shouldn't redpond. Because I can tell you from personal experience and also simply based on how awesome it sounds through this video that hearing that sweet blow off valve every time you let off the throttle is music to the ears. Keep doing what you're doing homie and dont listen to these knuckleheads on here. That Vov's DOPE!
