Great video of the steering rebuild. One comment: It's a good idea to orient the rack boot clamps for accessability. Once everything is installed upfront, there are a couple of locations where it's a real bugger to get to the clamp screws.
I believe that the purpose of the shim is to allow for proper alignment of the steering rack to the steering column. It came from the factory with the spacer.
Great instructional video for sure, very clear instructions and the gotchas all explained. Wont be long before you can roll her around the yard.
Thanks Ken, I appreciate your continued interest in the project. My goal is to be driving the car this summer! Wish me luck...
Great work Ian. I applaud your tenacity. I don’t think you have missed a weeks video since you started. Keep it up! 👍
Thanks Gareth, this is very encouraging. I have to admit there have been a couple of weeks that I've missed though.

Thanks Dan. I did put them on all pointing the one direction but I'll check to make sure that direction is the right one.
Nice work Ian. Good progress
Thanks 👍
Looking good. Where did you source the steering rack shims? Thanks.
I ordered the shims from AH Spares. Their part number XSTG159.
What happens if you don’t add the shim to the steering rack, is it a problem? Cheers Phil
