Hi, I am using your videos a lot to help with my 58 Frogeye rebuild, and yes I’m English!😂 Did you do a video showing how to put the coil into the clutch line? If so I didn’t find it yet. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks for your effort in making these hugely useful videos of your Sprite!
Hello Robert, I'm glad you're finding the videos of some use! Unfortunately I did not get any video of bending the coil into the clutch line. Probably one of those instances where the camera battery died or I forgot to hit record! If memory serves I used a large socket, a can, or a piece of pipe or tube of the same diameter as the original and bent the clutch line around that.

@@EconoboxGarage I posted a short video of the same brake line on my 58. It's untouched. Mine goes on the cockpit side of the dampener arm.
Wow. Nice work Ian. I am swapping stainless steel brake lines into my Mini Cooper in a few weeks. I bought a small vacuum assist bleeder. In all my automotive work I have never bled brakes or a clutch before… well I have worked the pedal end of the bleed on a few Porsches, Audis and Range Rovers when I worked at a dealership but never did the actual visual bleed. If successful I will also swap new fluid into my daily driver as well. I am not sure if it has ever been done and with 200,000 miles on my daily I figure it is due…

Ian, love these videos! You have inspired me to finally restore my ‘61 MK I next year in 2024. I have a question about this one though. Your 4-way manifold is pressure from the master cylinder (1), and then two outlets to the front (2 & 3), and then one outlet to the back (4). But it looks like only to the right side of the back. What am I missing about the back left brake?!! 🤔
Thanks William. There is a single brake line going to the rear bulkhead. The soft hose you see me installing at 14:30 in this video goes to a 'T' fitting on the rear axle itself. A hard line then runs from that 'T' to each of the rear wheels. The last five minutes or so of episode 31 shows how I installed the brake lines on the rear axle.
Hi Ian. I haven't contacted you for a while but still watch your videos for information. Always very helpful and informative. I am fitting my master cylinder and pedal box to my MG Midget Mk1 and have a large spring that needs fitting to the clutch pedal somewhere. I took it off some time ago and cannot remember where it connects to on the pedal and inside the footwell. I wondered if you could help me please?

Hello Tony. You got me thinking about this so I watched the video again and there is no return spring inside the car. The only springs I have are the ones in the engine bay side mounted on the forward end of the master cylinder assembly. I've checked on the car as well to be doubly sure and there is no spring inside. If you email me at econoboxgarage@gmail.com I can send you a couple of photos.
You are a wizard with that brake line bender! Nicely done! Is that grey colour in the engine bay the colour the car will be painted?
Thanks Gareth. The car will be painted Old English White. I didn't want a white engine bay as I felt that would get too dirty too quickly. There will be grey carpet going in the car so it sort of ties together.

Have a question, how does the panel at the rear wheel well attach to the inner sill?

Why are so many painting their car grey; in the absence of hue it's just a middle tone, not a color; a little boring.
Hi Chris. In my case the car is going to be Old English White. I didn't want white in the engine bay as I thought it would take too much to keep clean and I didn't want to black either as it's too dark. Chose the grey as it will go well with the green engine. I'm also putting in grey carpet so it carries on a bit of a theme.
