And the backing harmonies change just a little bit throughout the song, never noticed that before. Those tiny details are what makes this such a masterpiece.

There's really no way to know other than asking Donald himself, but I would say he doubled tracked the main vocal, as in sang it twice. It sounds like the lead is two takes
Yeah i find it hilarious too that a backup singer can sit so perfectly in the mix and accompany donald's vocal style so well. Might sound goofy on it's own but it's it's for a song, not a vocal solo
