- I think Echoes is the best piece of music ever and it deserves a compilation. I tried to play Meddle version, Gdansk version, Pompeii version and wanted to improv on it myself. Also the ending solo is just beautiful and very emotional, Rick and David playing it for the last time...

The original Pompei live performance, is pretty great too.
They sound like it’s in a studio, while on a volcano. 😆
I think I always liked that one, because I could see what Gilmour was actually doing during each song they played.

Some of my funnest jams, were with a band playing Echoes.
I got to visit my old bandmates recently, and we had a few 20-30 minute Exhoes and Interstellar Overdrive jams.
The last solo always, always gets me right in the feels 💙

the meddle album is for me one of the most iconic ones. at it's still "pink floyd in the beginning", but it shows forward what they are able to achive and shows the way to way much more. espacialy echos is one of my most favorite songs.
currently I'm learning comfortambly numb with my guitar teacher, but I also want to learn echos and bring some of my "own" style into it, as I have some ideas.

What's your opinion about the outro of the Pompeii version, Mustafa? I think it's comparable to the Gdansk version (ok don't blame me lol)
I much prefer the Pompei version, but the last performance with Rick was a different type of special.
depends on your mood I guess. I don't think pompeii suits my taste, especially if you exclude the funky part. there are a lot of great bootlegs around 1972-1975 that has better tone, better funky parts.
you should make a version replacing the whale noises!

I'm very specific, it all depends on your style man.
My copliments man, you're doing a great job! Just some curiosities: which string gauges do you use? the tremolo, dive only or full floating with +1 tone?
thank you! 10-48 strings, tremolo is kind of floating, but adjusted to my taste.
very good! since you bend quite heavy sometime, I was thinking something most like 9-46/48.
