Stephen Sondheim was a generous man, as well as a genius.

Love the recording of Let's Take a Walk Around the Block! Wonder where it's from? The other Jackie and Roy renditions I can find on UA-cam all seem to be of a different recorrding.

Jonathan Schwartz is interviewer. Bombast reserved, thankfully.

Listening to this 40-1/2 years later after SS's passing ... what feelings it brings up. The broadcast itself, and the amazing and ironic and prophetic meanings the comments take on in the light of what was to come.
THANK YOU for bringing this back to the light.

Also interesting hearing his thoughts on how well character-driven musicals work (or don't) onscreen, given how impressed he later was with Tim Burton's _Sweeney Todd_ and Steven Spielberg's _West Side Story._ (I know he said some nice things about Rob Marshall's _Into the Woods,_ but uhhh... we don't have to talk about that one.)

Anyone know where this great photograph is from? Who took it?
