Paul Keens-Douglas was born in Trinidad and grew up in Grenada. He has been writing and performing since 1974. He found his niche in storytelling when Louise Bennett gave workshops around the Caribbean and encouraged everyone to not only write poems in standard English but to write in their dialect. Paul took up the challenge and has delighted audiences over the years with his poems and short stories.

@@shellianne5767 You have it backwards!!!! 😂 Paul Keens Douglas was born in Trinidad 🇹🇹 & grew up in Grenada, kind of like calypsonian Mighty Sparrow in reverse. He was born in the fishing village of Gran Roi in Grenada & migrated to Trinidad at eighteen (18) months old.
I wish I could hear all of Mr PKDougkas songs on one CD.. it have a time is one of my faves !!!!..

Me too. Brought tears as I remember my friend who introduced me to Paul Keens Douglas who is no longer with us.
I am a Primary school teacher of almost 40 years. I don't think there is a class that hasn't heard about Tanti Merle, Dark Nite People, etc.
