On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" Will Crim's giant slug landwalk his way to victory or will Richard find a way to jank out everyone with the worst token generator ever? Tune in to find out!
Kinda love the mini-game of "Not Having to Say 'Clash On!'". Like it gives the crew an alternate win-state, like last seasons "Coming In 2nd". It's silly, but it gives players that are clearly behind something to play for.
The only issue with Odric is that he’s Odric and not some other legendary vampire. He’s a great Boros card for the 99, providing solid card filtering in the right decks, but with him being Odric people were expecting a lot more. Instead we got “All that for a drop of blood” on a body
The introduction of a first out punishment actually makes the fun games feel weighty with consequences and I’m so here for it. Especially given its fun lighthearted nature…… absolutely love it.
I feel like what really would've helped the Ordric deck is some reanamtion spells like breath of life and resurrection. That way you can discard big creatures with blood tokens and bring them back!
No I tried making an odric reanimator deck, because thats just better than keyword soup, and its very clunky but seems like the best non-cedh thing to do with him
My Tatyova deck that almost always opens the game with 2 lands in hand (it runs 45 lands) feels Phil's pain... sometimes variance just says 'Ha ha!' while pointing at your deck. :(
7:06 I'd say you should pretty much always leave her in the graveyard, except for maybe when you have no creatures. By using Disturb as much as possible, it's essentially as though she only has her mana cost increased every OTHER time you cast her, and also causes her to basically have mandatory Banding (an old keyword that's no longer used). As in, if you put Katilda's Rising Dawn on a 0/0 creature, you've just made another Katilda without increasing the mana cost. Except for the fact that it isn't a Spirit, but it's got an Enchantment on it, so the X/X number stays the same. And if you put KRD on a 1/1 creature, that's just Katilda with +1/+1. And if you put KRD on an even stronger creature, or a creature with good abilities (Double Strike and/or Vigilance are pretty nice, and unique abilities work too), it just gets better and better.
Really loved Seth's fun, janky deck this week and how Crim got a taste of his own medicine at the end. Richard's deck also looked really cool with what he was trying to do with blood tokens and I wish Phil would have had better luck on his draws to see what his deck wanted to do
As the resident Richard of my playgroup (plays bunch of mono white, little interaction, and cards everyone else thinks are bad) I hope he smacks some people around with Odric... But also Seth is playing the frog so I would be ok with him winning.
I’m more just waiting for Nintendo to copyright claim every episode with it. The song is copyrighted and Goldfish is not the owner(s). Personally those introductions add nothing imo but the copyright concerns me.
I bet there was more text on it originally, but all that got dumped because having the keyword soup ability making blood took up too much room and was kinda necessary for the lore+mechanical needs of the W/R legend
Seth was running Thassa's Oracle and didn't even run Echoing Equation, which scales incredibly with Grolnok. Just 5 attacking creatures and you mill 75 cards. My Grolnok deck would just be tutors for Echoing Equation and mana dorks to swarm the field. Echoing Equation being a creature on the front side even makes it easy to tutor in green to your hand.
Something to keep in mind is Grolnok only allows you to play permanents that he's exiled. I think in this list he may have put a few too many instants and sorceries. Personally I've included some of the "bad" frogs creatures and had a lot of success and fun with the deck!
I think Odric would have been a lot better received if only he had a keyword himself. Just First Strike would have made him so much better/more useful. Love Seth's Grolnok list. I haven't seen Ertai's Familiar in years!
There's no Green Black decks at the table, but if you're looking for some fun interactions, Yavimaya Cradle of Growth + Life and Limb + Plague Crafter = Your opponents can't have lands for the rest of the game and can't have lands for the rest of the game
Phil, if you wanna Exile Everyone's Library and be able to play it..you hit me up. I got the combo for you. Edit : OH SETH why would you let Toxril sit for a full turn cycle, even with Richard killing your Grolnok letting Toxrill just set and plague wind is a terrible terrible idea.
It's the kind of pettiness I can get behind though, I probably would have even gone one step further and beast within the enchantment after Richard said he wasn't falling for his bluff
Did Phil target himself with Sinner's Judgement? Would he not have died when he put on the third counter or was there a decision point that wasn't clear when he played it?
Nope. You can see when he Disturbs it that Crim's name is highlighted in red. It was still on Phil's side of the board, because it was under his control. Your opponent never gains control of it, so it never goes to their board.
Yhe katilda deck needs enchantment draw and aura draw… with kor spirit dancer, Mesa enchantress, and sram… also aura Tutor common with heliod’s pilgrim and tallowisp
I am pleased that the game ended when it did. Also no shade at Crim (he didn't make the card) but I truly despise Toxrill's design. Creature decks just cannot beat it.
Not for the last two seasons. They came up with a different house ban list last season, and I'm honestly not sure if they even *have* one for this season.
I think the issue with odric is that blood tokens are generally bad compared to the many things he could have done as "the vampire odric" yes he does keyword soup but not better than the other odrics even though he is lorewise much stronger.
Secret layer frogs for 600 dollars with 5 color yargle that draws cards equal x where x is the whatever you want and you can cast all those cards by tapping lands in your opponents deck
Seth's voice really does ruin a lot of these for me. You can tell the difference between his fake, influencer voice and his normal voice. It's so forced and unnatural. Just be you man.
Kinda funny how Seth goes "Frogs and Slugs!" trying to team up with Crim despite that Toxrill and Grolnok's cults are rivals in the lore
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" Will Crim's giant slug landwalk his way to victory or will Richard find a way to jank out everyone with the worst token generator ever? Tune in to find out!

technically Crim, Philipp and Richard died first so they all have to do the punishment now
@@rustybrown4665 I’m not referring to the specific episode but the inclusion of Clash On’ing into the weekly meta
Phil is just the most wholesome member they’ve ever had and that’s a high bar to pass. ❤️
Pretty sure if you win with a thassa's oracle combo you should have to say "clash on" next week
Yeah lol but at least it was a fun and unique way to do it.
Every time I heard "Crimson Vow," I imagine Crim making a pledge...Lol

Phil's honesty is his best bluff tactic
The editing tweaks have really made a huge improvement! They're a great contrast to the modo aestetic
There's gonna be 3 substitutes next week. Calling it now.
This is always my youtube-highlight of the week
Now that "Clash On!" has become the official motto does that mean that there is official merch in the future? Asking for a friend....
So now we have the Clash on with Tomer flex combo? What a time to be alive!
My goodness Group Slug is such a good name that alone makes me want to build the deck

That was a strong clash on!
Ill be honest - im ready for them to do a Brawl week with the SSB Brawl symbol/word on the commander clash logo
The new intro is fire btw.
I’m more just waiting for Nintendo to copyright claim every episode with it. The song is copyrighted and Goldfish is not the owner(s). Personally those introductions add nothing imo but the copyright concerns me.
I hate it
It is but hopefully the fish is a small enough channel to go under the radar.
People seem to like the intro and we haven't been hit with any copyright claims so far. I will look into replacement music though.
@@MTGGoldfishCommander At least there's plenty of opera music to pick from if you want to keep with the Smash Bros music aesthetic
Poor Phil, that was some bad running. He took it really well, though, and still impacted the game somewhat.
Katilda lost a colour, just from 1 set. in midnight hunt she was Selesnya. I guess that happens when you die, except in Odric'ss case, he gained one.
Also worst in commander xd
Innistrad vampires technically aren't undead. They call it a "condition of the blood" and conversion doesn't involve dying.
Richard had it coming and literally asked for it last week
We were expecting odric to do something in combat, like his other previous iterations, but his ability doesn't even work when attacking
I wonder if creating blood tokens for each keyword on attack would have been to broken?
@@mark1A100 not in commander, there are not that much payoff for blood since is a B/R mechanic, but it would stay on brand.

I agree or if he triggered on attacks as well as etbs.
Love the energetic CLASH ON. I hope Richard loses first again :'D
I really Like the Smash Intro 😃
¡Yo quiero Kormus Bell!
Props to the guy trying to get the new Odric to work
Flex addition is perfect. Required from now on.

Group slug is a very good name
CLASH ON! 💪
What a great intro!

Thank you! I didn’t see that. I’ll rewatch that part
Mtgo is weird!
Clash on!
I wonder why Richard wasn't running the KCI loop with odric, also wondering why the Toxril deck wasn't running Lifeline combo
Reality:"Chittering witch can use its ability"
Crim: "No it can't"
That's such a great intro xD
So technically Crim, Philipp and Richard all died first does that mean all of them have to say clash on next week?
Yes ;)
This game we learn why you should play Drannith Magistrate in each white deck.
What program is this being played on?
Man, I'm at 59 minutes and it's painful watching Seth not beast within Crim's Coffers X_X
Crim not all of us lived in California and went to Santa Cruz for science camp now
CLASH ON!
I was hoping for some Olivia action :(
Don't worry, we're doing one more VOW episode and Olivia will be there.
@@MTGGoldfish yay! Thanks for the content.
Clash on!!
No forbidden sanctuary in the Toxrill list?
Whoever made that intro should be promoted
Good enough that Tomer should be unfired?
@@MTGGoldfish Tomer is my favorite goldfish in the bowl! He inspired me to win FNMs on super tight budgets:)
Excited to see what this froggy can do! To me (if brewed right) he reads draw a shit ton of cards!

Is the "Tomer Flex" a real thing now? Lol
where u guys play? I mean the website
Where is the music intro from ?
that opening yo
I miss the old ban list.

Nay
Yeah but it costs 7 and can easily be killed. So it's mostly a fair card lol.
It's a seven drop recasting it more then twice is going to be hard.
Isn't Cyclonic Rift house banned?
Not for the last two seasons. They came up with a different house ban list last season, and I'm honestly not sure if they even *have* one for this season.
Yeah, this season we're just using the normal commander banned list with no house bans. Might change again next season though.
@@MTGGoldfishCommander Ah, okay. Thanks.
Litteraly toxril and meathook massacre were the only 2 cards in all of standard for like 6 months and toxril is only good with help from historic
Richard is kind of painfully slow when it's his turn
Gosh my guesses of who is playing who was really far off
I really wanna play magic online but ffs I cant even figure out the main menu
I made a guide to get started on MTGO, maybe it can help: ua-cam.com/video/8rkEavE6snk/v-deo.html
Next season you should ban teferi's protection. you banned all Crim cards, why not Richard's
They did before it and tithe were banned
@@mark1A100 Thanks, I guess I forgot.

Clash off!
I think the issue with odric is that blood tokens are generally bad compared to the many things he could have done as "the vampire odric" yes he does keyword soup but not better than the other odrics even though he is lorewise much stronger.
Of cause Crim is playing Toxrill
But seriously, these intros
People that play cyclonic rift should feel bad
Me, seeing the line-up.
“Who’s the daring mad man who chose Odric??”
"Frogs aren't very good." You hear that WOTC, make better frogs going forward. lol
Secret layer frogs for 600 dollars with 5 color yargle that draws cards equal x where x is the whatever you want and you can cast all those cards by tapping lands in your opponents deck
Toxrill pogggg
Phroge
Richard's gotta stop falling for every awful bluff. Lol
I have resolved myself to skipping ahead till after the first round of play because “clash on” is soo cringey
Hope the grolnok deck is as unplayable, unoptimized, and as fun as my 4 colour frog tribal deck. Edit tragically it is not 😢
I hate that Crim is now just blatantly lying about his board position constantly and making people double check things...
Wait when did he lie. He basically just underplayed how dangerous it is which is pretty common and an opinion based statement
It’s kind of his tell. Anytime he doesn’t have anything he asks what they are doing. If he has a counter he assumes it is.
@@mark1A100 thats not good sportsmanship. Tomer does the same crap and its very annoying
@@Logan-lz5gu so what do you generally say I have the most dangerous board state please attack me. Save your removal for me?
@@Logan-lz5gu also you didn't answer my question when did he lie?
Toxrill+Urborg+Kormus Bell is, for me, reason to never again play against someone. Such a disrespectful combo. *barf*
