Thank you very much for the information. Also thank you for the speed you talk & show in a timely manner & having your cursor black to keep up. Cheers Brad.
Awesome presentation 👍👏! I have a question: I only have a budget of 2,100. Amazon has XTool S1 20 Watt for 1,877, w/riser, tumbler, air assist. If I get the S1 20watt and down the road upgrade to the 40watt module it is another 1,499. On the other hand, WeCreat just announced their new 40watt laser for almost the same price as the xTool S1. My use would be both cutting and engraving. I seen the xTool S1 does a fantastic job engraving with the 40 watt. So, I believe WeCreat may do the same. If you were me which laser would you go with?
I have both and recommend xTool 9/10 times because of their software and support. I haven’t had to use tech support for either but hear WC support not great. There are plenty of xTool user groups available too.
@@VoeltnerWoodworking Thanks for the info. I ordered the xTool S1 40-watt on Amazon. I think I got a good deal. I paid $2,049 with the honeycomb tray and air assist. They had a 20-watt with a honeycomb tray, air assist, riser (not pass-through), and a rotary for $1,878, but I went with the 40-watt and decided to get the accessories little by little. Again, thanks.
xTool is making some great progress with XCS. Any word on if they plan to take it further and add the ability to control lasers from other manufacturers?
They definitely are getting very good at software. I'm not sure they would want to make the software available for all lasers, honestly. It helps drive people into their ecosphere if the software is good. I've been impressed with all of their machines, although I think they should discontinue the D1 series and focus on their latest series of lasers. Thanks for watching, Mike!
@@VoeltnerWoodworking paid modules to support other controllers like ezcad, ruida, and trocen would open up a whole new revenue stream and get people who have invested in other lasers to more seriously consider xTool machines for their next purchase.
When editing nodes. I recommend turning OFF the auto snapping. auto snapping is SUPER annoying when editing node handles. Makes it almost unusable. Once i turned off auto snapping it has been an amazing addition. Xtool needs to create a control key to bypass auto snapping - which it doesn’t do today.
What windows version does it need to operate? I tried to download this on an older windows version and I got an error when I tried to open the program.
Here are the system requirements: shorturl.at/e01B5 Looks like Windows 10 or newer. You can also use a smartphone (iPhone or Android) or iPad to run the system.

Are they going to make a fiber module for the S1?
Not likely. The benefit of the fiber is the speed and accuracy given by the galvo style of a fiber.

Yes, great recommendation.
100% what you said! Snapping shouldn't require a settings level change and for most of my usage, snapping functions horribly.
