  • Bob Marley, the legendary Jamaican musician, was a pioneer of reggae music whose impact transcended borders and generations. Born in 1945 in Nine Mile, Jamaica, Marley rose to fame in the 1970s with his band, The Wailers. His music was infused with themes of social justice, love, and spirituality, making him a voice for the oppressed and marginalized. Hits like “No Woman, No Cry,” “Redemption Song,” and “One Love” continue to resonate with audiences worldwide. Marley’s work not only defined a genre but also served as a catalyst for cultural and political movements. Despite his untimely death in 1981, his legacy lives on, inspiring countless artists and activists to this day.

I am a 62 year old White man. I was lucky to see Bob Marley at the Music Hall in Boston in1978 and at Harvard Stadium in 1979. Still have my vinyl from the Old days. I played Bob Marley for the kids I nannied. Saw Ziggy on his first American tour at Lupos in Providence. This music is time less.

No he doesn't. Its MSNBC. Nothing they do is true or real. Ironically, they are part of a system that gaslights people into acting against their own self-interests...the very thing that Bob Marley's music was all against. This MSNBC video was nothing more than a promo for the Paramount Pictures movie. An elitist like Ari Melber would NEVER invite a dude who looks like Bob Marley into his home. But its always a safe thing to take about 'culture' from a distance.
There's a reason why neither Ziggy nor any of his siblings ever attained to the success of their dad...they all sold out. And none of them have the talent or originality that Bob did.

Listen to the song called " CAPTURE LAND" ( CAPCHA LAND) by the artist Chronixx out of Jamaica. I can't speak for the Spanish, French Dutch etç; but I know that the people from the ( British) West Indian islands always talk about the indigenous people. They were almost annihilated before the Africans got to the Caribbean. The colonial powers " turned paradise into plantation" in the lands they captured. The indigenous people didn't stand any chance to survive.
