There are lots of such people and I have performed in many of their homes. They generally ARE Scottish and many of them know their family heritage going back seven hundreds years and more. They have all had the best education and lots of them are pleasant. But. They don't know much about people outwith their own social circles and every one of them is a Tory. They are frightened of Scottish nationalism as they think they will lose money because of it. As for education, never confuse a posh voice with intelligence. Many of them are as thick as two short planks. The current Clan Chiefs are the descendants of those who betrayed their own people. The landed gentry only own their land as someone was bribed or got an arrow in their back eight hundred years ago. The majority of them are worthless human beings. Royalty, the military and Toryism. THAT is what they stand for. But. WE outnumber them by millions of voters. Independence is coming and there is NOTHING they can do about that. All the best to you Hector.
