Except for Dawit Yifru, all of the Roha band's founders are of Eritrean origin. Selam, giovani, Tekle tesfazgi, and fekadu andemeskel. when it comes to guitar there is no like Eritreans. the influence of the Lutheran churches in Asmara and musicians like Jimi Hendrix and Santana in the 60 -the 70s was huge. at that time most Ethiopian music bands had Eritrean guitarists, including Tekle Adhanom (hwket), for me the best habesha guitarist of all time, some of his best work can be found in the Ethiopique series. he is from the same generation as Selam seyoum, who contributed a lot to Ethiopian music but has received less recognition. and of course still Eritrea has talented guitarists, but not like in the 70s era.
